Me and my brother were a huge fan of the first two Home Alone movies. We had the first Genesis Home Alone game. I didn't know until years later this ended up being the best Home Alone game. You play as Kevin trying to defend five houses from the wet bandits. There's two similar modes with some notable changes. You can set up traps as well as pick up weapons. Keep in mind, there's a few enemies as well as hazards within the locations. You get to travel outside going such speeds almost Sonic level fast. You can actually arrive to any location before they do. You are given the opportunity to set up the traps. If you show up afterwards you'll work with what you got. Both modes has a time limit for how long the game goes on for. Assuming you are preventing them from robbing every house until then. Either play up from twenty to forty minutes. The soundtrack kinda works despite not having the theme song. Then again the SNES counterpart was more of a cash in movie game. The longer mode also has several exclusive combinations you can make. Despite little to no actual story. The theme is very faithful to the movie. The wet bandits looks notably better than their SNES counterparts. The fact four of the five locations were mentioned by the wet bandits in the movie was a nice touch here. The game play can get quite chaotic at times. Jumping is a bit weird just doesn't expect it to help much. Home Alone was a surprisingly decent Genesis movie game. I would love to have it again on GOG in the near future.
