tl;dr: Ludus manager simulator, a video game heavily inspired by the Spartacus TV series
You are the widow of a well known Dominus (a "master" or "lord" in the roman empire). You inherit the role of managing their Ludus (a gladiator training facility).
You manage every single gladiator's training by choosing their class, their equipment, which battle they fight and so on. During fights, you can choose for them to be controlled by AI or manually. Some fights will be fair, some will not, but this is by design. Sometimes you have to make the hard decision of sacrificing a fresh gladiator to the jaws of the lions to appease the public's cravings.
Important note: The game was pulled from sales by the dev himself because of the backlash he received for his unpopular political posts. I cast my vote and post this story solely for the sake of preservation, this was a really decent game, only the dev was ... something else.
