it recreated the time of Robin Hood and medieval England in a way that captures the magic of the time period like few other games do (lords of the Realm II or Stronghold might have done that later) but the cool thing about this game, is how many game modes there is.
The overall goal is to become the dominant lord of England. But this can be done in several ways: you can hold a tournament and challenge another lord to joust with lances over the control of lands. Or you can take a more direct approach, make a small army, and try to conquer regions outright.
You can even try to break into an enemy lord's castle at night and see if you can kidnap (i mean liberate :P) a young fair lady to court her.
There is no easy way to play this game any more that doesn't require you to fiddle with many settings. Therefor this game belongs on gog.com
