i absolutely LOVED the original series, and i have them all on disc still. played the hell out of them. the story, the atmosphere, and the truly original mechanics of the game were just phenomenal. the remake is all that but better graphics, a slightly fleshed out story, and just as engaging as ever. but i want to OWN MY GAMES. no stupid DRM, no GPU-trashing Denovo. just a great game that i paid for. can't beat GOG for all that. love this service.
Why It’s One of the Best Modern Remakes Complete Visual & Audio Overhaul The Dead Space remake delivers incredible graphics and atmospheric lighting powered by the Frostbite engine. Shadows dance, blood splatters realistically, and the detail in the Ishimura's haunting halls makes the ship a character in itself. The 3D audio design is masterful, amplifying every eerie creak, whisper, and Necromorph screech to spine-chilling levels. Improved Gameplay Mechanics Combat is more visceral and refined. The remake introduces modern aiming, zero-gravity movement, and a new Peeling System that realistically shows flesh and bone tearing away from enemies. There are also quality-of-life changes, like better inventory and map navigation, enhancing immersion without compromising the original's survival horror roots. Fully Voiced Isaac Clarke Unlike the silent protagonist in the 2008 game, Isaac now speaks, offering emotional depth and making the story more cohesive. His interactions add context and make him feel like an actual engineer trapped in a nightmare, not just a vessel for gameplay. Expanded Narrative The remake adds side quests, logs, and minor story adjustments that tie in with Dead Space 2 and 3, enriching the universe and providing deeper lore without bloating the experience. Why It Has to Be on GOG Preservation: As one of the best modern horror remakes, Dead Space (2023) deserves to be part of GOG’s growing archive of important gaming milestones. DRM-Free Gaming: GOG allows players to fully own their games. A DRM-free Dead Space Remake means uninterrupted access, no online checks, and total preservation. Accessibility for Horror Fans: Many horror and sci-fi fans on GOG love classics like System Shock, F.E.A.R., and the original Dead Space. Adding the remake gives them the modern equivalent with the same love for immersive, slow-burn terror.
This game is FIRE PEAK!, Parry system is enjoyable in game and I've seen demo and gameplays. I want this game on GOG because I hate drm that hogs resources and want actual game to play with. This game seems better I want this game to be here in gog site + steam only providing a license to play game which I don't want that neither would pay for something that is running on luck. but i want to OWN MY GAMES. no stupid DRM, no GPU-trashing Denovo. just a great game that i paid for. can't beat GOG for all that.
I adore the original Dead Space, and I think a lot of people in the classic games community have a similar love for it. Even unvarnished, it holds up to this day– its striking art direction, nerve-shredding soundtrack, and immersion-first approach to game design make it a one of a kind gem. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I really want to play the Remake, but I'm not willing to buy a copy with DRM. If the game was brought to GoG, I could feel good about the purchase.
If EA could be convinced to agree to a DRM-free Dead Space remake, then they can have all of my money that they want. This would be freaking amazing to have on GOG.
