Story:Crash Bandicoot is the first installment in the Crash Bandicoot series that established Naughty Dog's reputation in the video game industry. Its premises chronicle the creation of the titular Crash, a bandicoot who has been uplifted by the mad scientist Doctor Neo Cortex. The goal of Crash Bandicoot is to traverse several levels in sequence in order to progress. The game is played from a third-person perspective in which the camera trails behind Crash, though some levels showcase forward-scrolling and side-scrolling perspectives. I'm surprised at the lack of memories being shared for this classic. It is an easy game to pick up but hard to master due to the precision required for completing some of the levels. Perfecting a level without taking damage and discovering secret areas was always rewarding.
Nearly every sound effect is memorable with one of my favourites being the bounce crate and music that plays while wearing Aku-Aku.
I'm pretty sure I learned about glitches from this game as I remember breaking the Dr. N Brio boss fight (his health bar vanished, sound effects doubled up, and model flickered).
I would love to see this game on GOG someday along with its sequels as they deserve to be preserved in their original form.
