This was my first Battlefield game. I still remember how cool it was, compared to Call of Duty titles at the time, that I could set up C4 or call in mortar strikes to knock down entire buildings with people inside of them. The campaign storyline was a little less serious with bits of comedy thrown in here and there. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that I spent many hours in. Being able to play this game again, without DRM and maybe even with support for custom servers that don't depend on EA, would be amazing.
There are people on this world with older, but upgraded to work with windows 10 PC's, which can run only older games, and some of them are still played quite often for old non updated battlefield. One of those games is Battlefield Bad Company 2. Rome Project is required to play online, but still You need to obtain game. For the glory of the series bring back this great game alongside with older ones.
This is probably the FPS game I've spent my time the most in the genre. Now that it cannot be bought anymore, there is no reason for it to not to be on GOG. One of the best in the genre and definitely deserves to be here.
This game is what I compare all multiplayer war FPS to. I spent so many hours playing this game with friends and had a blast with so many "Battlefield moments". The destruction in the engine is unmatched to anything today, pretty much everything thing can be destroyed and it changes the dynamics of the battleground.
I used to rocket/c4 a path though buildings to flank some tanks and campers. There were so many times where it was just 2 or 3 of us holding down the a blasted down gatehouse in Karkand to buy the rest of our team time to back cap and win. Few games now that gives that "Battlefield" experience: pulling off a miracle or overcome some insane odds. My favorite moment was my friend going prone to dodge under a jeep trying to run him over, then c4ing it afterwards to survive and gloat.
The most recent BF2042 misses this mark and why this franchise had so much fanfare: fun strategic team-based gameplay, semi-realistic shooting, and dynamic environments that make players feel like they can change the outcome.
I would love it if GOG can bring this multiplayer experience back. It is the best game in the franchise (as of 2025) that sadly newer players would never be able to experience.

That's where it all started! The Battlefield game series was born with real-time destruction. Even nowadays, my favorite, Battlefield 1, has such a stunning destruction system. I am familiar with games like Red Faction, but that series has weak multiplayer support...
At the same time, the Battlefield games (2042 - the only exception) are the best amongst all I know. That is why I voted for all the modern BF games here.
I doubt that EA and Developer Companies will read what we write about games here, but if they do, I am asking for the Battlefield: Bad Company and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Remakes/Remasters!!!
A long time ago, I did not have a console to play B_BC 1; I could only watch YouTube videos of others playing the game. I played B_BC_2 (only the single-player mode), and I really want to try the multiplayer mode so much!!!
If (or better to say - When) the Remakes/Remastered versions will be released, I am 99.9% certain that I will buy and enjoy playing the games with my friends, colleagues, and any other players who found of Bad Company stories!
This was my first Battlefield game too. I would watch my friend play it at his apartment and think "I don't even think I could learn to play this, there's so much going on." The destructible environments were groundbreaking to me. It was very fun to learn to play, and you were always learning new playstyles. I still play various fps games with this same friend, though we live on oposite sides of the US. It kicked off our love for Battlefield games, and really nothing that came after ever really "scratched the itch" in the same way as this game... with the exception of maybe Battlfield 3. The reason I want it on GOG is I think it's worthy of being preserved.

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed.
The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo.
As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity.
Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control.
