Another one of Psygnosis's games that deserved a lot more attention.
In Assault Rigs you control a virtual tank for the future of e-sport entertainment.
The goal is to collect a number of gems scattered throughout the level and get to the exit while being harassed by enemies and hazardous situations that actively try to oppose you.
You can get various pick ups that give you better weapons like bouncing ammo to shoot around corners, a tracking turret, lasers or guided missiles to better deal with any resistance.
The levels also require a lot of platforming skills so it isn't just a quick race through the level but you need precise handling to make it across the platorms and hazards.
The 3D graphics weren't spectacular at the time but the game looks and controls good.
As for the music, it is notable for being inspired by Herbie Hancock.
All in all Assault Rigs would be an awesome addition for GOG.
