This is the most modern game I own, over on Epic. It's a solid sequel, but I'd kinda argue that the original game is better in certain ways. Or at least the maps over there feel larger and gigantic objects don't fly at you anymore. (Also, where's BARRY? I miss Barry!) What this game does however is lean on the story aspect of things and introduces some interesting methods of gameplay, where you feel like you're the one, in the writer's seat, fleshing out the story. Or whenever you play as Saga Anderson, you feel like you're in the FBI seat, uncovering the story, piece by piece. Like it's predecessor, this too leans in heavily on it's Twin Peaks influences, and it does so with beautiful, pristine graphics, which is the one thing this game has over the first one, for sure! It also has a tie in with Control, which I have yet to finish playing. I suppose if you liked that game, you'll love this continuation of Alan Wake's story.
Now, I'd love to see this on GOG for mainly one reason: My internet is not that great. Downloading this takes a really long time for me, and I use Lutris for Linux, where I can pretty much one-click and download all the bin files for offline storage without having to think about it. I've finished this game twice now, and after I get rid of it, I am not downloading it again! Unless it sees a release here on GOG.
