Not easy on easy.
Difficulty spikes. Bullet sponge enemies. Stealth that doesn't quite feel like stealth. BUT... Overall I enjoyed it enough. Some of the levels are really well realised visually. Laughed like hell at certain points in the plot and the world felt lived in. Sadly I decided to drop my guns and watch the ending on youtube during the final battle as it was just too annoying for me. No doubt 20 years ago I'd have have kept going. So yeah, give it a go, just don't expect easy mode to be easy mode. :/

Ich kann einen Kauf nicht empfehlen
Ich habe tatsächlich das Gefühl, dass die Entwickler auf die Kritik eingegangen sind und alle negativen Aspekte der Vorhänger-Teile (The Old Blood & The New Order) behoben haben. Das Problem dabei ist nur, dass sie die positiven Dinge von ebendiesen Vorgängern dabei schlecht gemacht haben. Die Story gefällt mir ebenfalls nicht, es handelt sich um eine düstere Weltuntergangsstimmung, da der Hauptcharakter BJ (zumindest in der ersten Hälfte des Spiels) meint, dass sein Leben am seidenen Faden hängt und entsprechend auch Selbstgespräche führt. Aber auch davon abgesehen ist es viel mehr ein Storygame geworden, als ein klassischer Shooter. Wenn jemand das Spiel trotzdem kaufen möchte, um sich selbst ein Bild zu machen, kann ich hier nur empfehlen die Standard-Edition zu erwerben, in der die Freiheitschroniken nicht dabei sind, denn diese sind noch der Gipfel von allem Schlechten an diesem Teil.

Genuine Bethesda experience
Heaps of unskippable intro movies. Can't alt-tab without crash. Full screen ad on main menu. Can't change resolution without crash. Never got to the 3D part of the game. Refunded.

Shootastic As Ever
Not as good as The New Order and The Old Blood, but still good. The gameplay is shootastic as ever, with some new mechanics later in the game. Mostly good level design, and some entertaining setpieces and sequences. At least it doesn't have some glaring balancing issues and MANDATORY STEALTH like Return to Castle Wolfenstein does. The game is about 8-12 hours long if you focus on the main campaign, and maybe 12-16 if you do side stuff as well. I'd say the worst thing about the game still, is how demanding it is. Those recommended specs are nothing to sneeze at, even today. Thankfully I have decent hardware and it ran fine. Get it on sale, you won't regret it.
