Overhyped.
First game duration. This game is short, as in, 15 hours short, One of the reasons I bought this game was that someone in the reviews likened it to a 'simplified xcom'. It's not. The only 'team synergies' are stripping armor or baiting lychguards with AoO's. No overwatch, no repositioning moves, nothing. As for the map design there are zero hazards and the only one frequent object- a hackable console. No map hazards you can maneuver enemies into or anything, just straight up shoot n' slash. Speaking of shoot n' slash the tech tree's are imbalanced to the point where it makes the game boring later on. For example, the 3rd ability of the explorator tree makes you immune to AoO's (attacks of opportunity) and gives a move speed bonus. With this ability if the AI catches your character in a pinch you can literally saunter-away from the big-bad melee mob, put on your tech shades, and shoot him in the face. Or, as I usually did it, sprint past the strategically placed melee guys and murder all the squishies. As the game went on it devolved from strategy into a bum-rush of technologically enhanced murder hobo's. Bottom line is I feel like I bought a polished BETA. I'm not complaining but I'm seeing alot of high ranked reviews and I feel they are misleading. The game idea is solid but needs flushing out. Pay what you think is fair for a 15 hour strategy session with no replay value.
