Time Will Move Forward While You Play
The blondest woman puts on her whitest sweater and goes crawling through a dingy derelict house looking for jump scares. She finds and discards multiple weapons and abuses pliers as nail removers (why does this happen in every HOG). The game is nearly in English.

somewhat clumsy but fun
This is a hidden object game along the likes of Big Fish and Eipix genre but more well done and like a real adventure point and click. Its not open world but not as linear and restricted as those other devs. You have the option of turning off Hidden object mini puzzles which i recommend as it vastly improves pacing and flow (im a fan of hidden object puzzles so i played with them on and found it inferior an experience). The good stuff: its nicely drawn world, very creepy and skin crawling kind of way. somewhat muted in resolution. You can fast travel via a map which can show points of interest and needed actions according to difficulty level you choose. Music is well done, orchestrated, even a piece by the incredible artist Kevin Macleod. You are able to download some of the songs as you wish. The story is very good, totally immersive and intriguing. I was drawn in from the beginning and stayed to the end. Voice acting is good. interaction with inventory was ok. Puzzles were easy to mid level, most I have seen the base premise in other games. Bonus game, collectibles, making of, excluded content (1st ive seen in these games), art concepts, etc. total time played 7.5 hrs. In game journal was very good and employed simultaneous main character reaction to found notes. some clumsiness: the inventory bar was collapsible, i found it annoying and got in the way of backing out of scenes which resulted in many misclicks. sometimes it was hard to back out of a scene as items in inventory blocked the action. you can lock the bar but it still was too big for the screen. the mouse icon was offset a bit so could be irritating to target something. Only 3 difficulty levels to choose from so you couldnt customize what you wish, for ex. i hate glimmers/spoilers but you could only stop them if you went expert, which wouldnt show actionable locations on map. you could change levels at any time. all in all very enjoyable

Great Creepy Game
True Fear 1 is a great creepy point and click that made me think a bit of Phantasmagoria and some of the mechanics that were used in that game. The storyline is interesting and the puzzles are relatively simple, so that there is not any frustration. I would play it through again.

Who would ever have thought
... that a hidden object game can be more than just pixel hunting? The amount of interaction and "need duct tape to fix the cable" tasks beats many modern adventure games. Sadly there are also many hidden things just for the sake of being hidden, on a level of "the stone figure in the forsaken graveyard holds the battery for the TV control" (no spoiler, I just made it up as an example). Sadly also most items are consumed after first use, the bonus chapter is better, it lets you reuse quite some items a few times. The biggest downer however is that the story ends right when it's getting interesting. Many questions are unanswered, if you want the whole picture, you also have to buy part 2. That's a big no-no. If not for that, it would have given the game 4 stars.

Far better than I expected!
I purchased this during a sale, hoping for a short distraction. What I got was a surprisingly engaging hidden object horror game. This and the sequel are almost faultless for the genre. The art is beautiful. The story is engaging. The puzzles are sufficiently challenging (I never got stuck which I appreciate). I played both games back to back and never once found myself frustrated or annoyed. If you're looking for a horror point and click adventure game, then this and True Fear 2 are for you. Additionally, both games are longer than expected, making them excellent values. Here's hoping we'll one day get True Fear 3.
