Play this game, you must.

Hi the great_gatsby on the prowl, a little review of this game: It's an excellent game, I played the first saga on Playstation and because it was so unintuitive, I didn't like it that much, but I like this reboot or reinvention a lot, I finished it 100% and the lore is pretty good. I heard about this game a long time ago but due to my past experience, I skipped it, but boy did I make a mistake, it's very good. I must say that it's a good game although it has some glitches, which make you restart the game to go back to normal, the final boss doesn't look like one, it looks like a slightly stronger enemy and the story with its gaps, didn't please me that much (although at this point I don't know if it's part of the magic of the game and if so it's exempt from this point). I saw this saga on Steam but the fact of having removed the online achievements gives it an extra plus, so I will wait for the whole saga to come out here.

QTE: the movie: the game: the boredom

Summary: A reboot of the franchise that while storywise is nice, leaves a lot to be desired mechanically. Suffers from pacing issues where far too long nothing meaningful happens. PROS + The story is given more emphasis than in the original games + More collectibles and secrets than in previous games CONS - So. Many. QTEs. So many. All the time. Everywhere. Seriously, this is not what tomb raider is meant to be. - Less combat than the original games - Less platforming and puzzles than the original games - ENOUGH WITH THE QTES ALREADY!!! - Puzzles are too easy Subjective opinion: Would not recommend. I quite liked the original games, the combat, historical/mythological inspirations and puzzles were quite an excellent combination. However, I do not like QTE-fests like this has become, and I truly dislike that the larger story presences came at the expense of gameplay. The franchise deserved better.

Ugh! I hate tombs... (said lara herself)

Already have it on steam, buy it again here. I don't remember how many times I finished this game, all I know is this tomb raider version is really balance. There are some puzzles but not that hard, some action not too much and you can just silent kill the enemy. What I really don't like from this game is that quick action button, it's just unnecessary and annoying. The story is meh, I don't really care about it, beside when they were talking in the cutscene I just try to focus on lara, cause to be honest that's my main reason playing this game

Not to be recomenneded

The antagonists are a band of murderous, cannibal fanatic, fundamentalist madmen - why is that necessary? The geography, topology, architecure... simply the whole ground on which Lara walks and climbs oftenly (the more the story advances the less logic it contains) lacks any sense of logic. The spawn mechanics of the antagonists is insulting to the very concept of onology! The overal esthetic impression is repulsing, do not play if you like beauty. The plot is just that foreseeable and actually utmost shallow. The other friendly protagonists mostly are just there to be picked away one after another. And as the story enters a 'methaphysic' stage, it becomes - courteously said - weirdest. Of course, a 'normal' human body would never endure such torment as it does Lara's. She's a heroess thus her body is stronger than a normal human's but still, it's just over the top. The handling of Lara is suitable. The animations are fine. The idea of an island that hosts anomalies could form a good ground for a story, if it wasn't cooked over like here. Finally even if one has all achievments in game they do not show up in GOG Galaxy. The reviewing player is new to Tomb Raider thus his commment is to be read with caution and if all the above points of outrage (mostly logics and aesthetics) do not disturb you, the game may be at your liking.
