Great game, but not still flawed
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Possibly the best storytelling in any Metroidvania I've ever played, and that's despite the inherent silliness of the time travel element. Great artwork. Great gameplay. So why does it only get four stars? Well, there are just a few things that really bothered me about it. For example, there are a bunch of "kill 5 sirens" sidequests, with the given goal of thinning the numbers of the enemy. This makes no sense in terms of the actual mechanics of the game, because all enemies respawn when you reenter the room. In fact, the only way you'll find five sirens to kill is by taking advantage of that respawning. You can kill as many sirens as you want, you can get credit for killing the sirens, but the number of sirens never decreases, and nobody seems to notice. This is bad enough by itself, but it also goes directly against the central theme of the game of how your actions are supposed to change the future. Well, they don't - not unless the action is one of a small fixed set of plot points. The vast majority of your actions barely even affect the present.
Hilft dir das weiter?
