The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

You have to find the girl, so you spend the time in a loop of riding your horse to visit places, investigating them with your magic, killing the monsters there, looking for people who can help you finding the girl. OK if you like this kind of game. I bought this convinced by the "This is the best game I've ever played" comments but I now I regret.

Nicely made, enjoyable, streamlined fast travel and quest markers. Sadly there are tons of little things that should be easily fixed, yet they are left in the game: - dialogue skipping: To skip a single Goodbye! dialogue line you must click at least TWICE. Usually it's 5 times, and you have to say goodbye to everyone you talk to. - cutscene skipping: adding insult to injury, the occasional long cutscenes are skipped by a SINGLE click. They even start extremely slow to make it more annoying. - combat targeting: Geralt frequently focuses enemies that are far out of reach instead of the ones you were just fighting. So you must center your camera on them or lock it, but that limits your fighting ability. - camera: you can't look down, so jumping off aa bridge into the river can easily kill you if designers placed some stones there. - inventory: items are not sorted alphabetically and cannot be searched by name, so finding the sword oil for each monster takes a long time. - horse: it always appears behind you, so you should look back before calling it if you want it to appear ahead. Also it never comes completely to your position. - crashing: game crashes with no error message after 3-5 hours for me.

I don't know why they call these games RPGs. Your character development options have minimal impact on how you play the game. There is really no getting away from the sword play. It's an action/adventure game with some RPG elements. Like a lot of people, I have no idea why this game is so highly rated. Whoever designed clearly wanted to make a movie. Endless cut scenes that deliver almost nothing. Game play appears to be an afterthought. If you like listening to voice acting this game is for you, but personally I found it tedious in the extreme. It could have been alleviated by letting you skip entire sequences instead of requiring two key presses to skip one line. There are a lot of things I could complain about, but the bottom line is, it does not engage me what so ever.

Well, I'm just a couple years late with this review.. By now there's hardly anyone who hasn't heard about the Witcher or the company behind it. With such a shallow and shady industry we have nowdays, CD Projekt Red created a beautiful experience that reminded gamers what great RPG's are about. You know that thing, which made us love Bioware, Black Isle Studios etc. a long time ago. Great Stories. There were some experiments in the past to make this beautiful world a living thing on the screens, but they ultimately failed to get the audience really interested. (IMO the recent Netflix series also failed in this matter). CDPR did the magic and I dare to say, improved on Sapkowski's short stories and made the world even more alive & enchanting. In short, you just have to give this series a go & try out for yourself. Start from the Witcher 1 and experience the care & growth till the very end of Blood & Wine. Check those prices often, as CDPR regularly hands the games out for nearly nothing. See for yourself what content you'll get for your money. In 2015 a new standard was set for RPG gaming. That is the Witcher 3. Enjoy.

I've tried a few games that shared the setting of witcher 3: third person view, sword fights, magical creatures, spells and all that. I hated it, I always did (I'm 34 btw). I used to like action RPGs like Fallout, Prey(2017) and -especially- the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. After constantly being slapped in the face by literally anyone, with positive reviews and even praising the game for being one of the best of it's genre, I thought I should give it a try. I felt a little regret during the first hour, but suddenly I got sucked in and ca. 60h later I immediately bought the expansion pass after finishing the game. Buy it! There's no excuse! TL;DR: Wow, what a extraordinary game! I love it ...and I didn't even like the genre...
