Ungodly Boring

Here's a story of someone with a horrible idea: Someone sits down, says "Let's remove everything that made Settlers 2 fun." They take out the puzzle of transport efficiency and supply layout. They take out the automated combat that negated any chance of tedious stalemates. They take out pretty 2D sprite graphics. And then they say "Let's think of what is totally unfun." They think of horrible simplistic combat where you right click a tower and watch dudes smack away at its inhabitants, waiting nicely in a lane so they can take turns dying to the fool inside before they finally overwhelm the hovel. There are no roads, instead you spam buildings all over the hideous terrain and wonder "Why isn't the building and supply part of this game fun anymore?" Easy, because there's literally no more challenge of setting up an efficient supply chain and logistics. Guess what, that was the entire point of the first two Settlers game. I guess someone had an very long lapse of reason, because it took around, I don't know, more than a decade and a half for someone to release a Settlers game that actually put back what made the game fun in the first place. But who listens to someone that doesn't like playing tedious games that are antithetical to common sense? Definitely no one here.

Wenn things startet getting wrong

The first 2 settler games where great i loved them and cant wait to get part three, but after a few hours i was realy disapiontet. It was more a RTS the a Simulation like the first two parts. They focus for my opinion to much on the RTS part and it get wore with every new settler titel after this one. Still playing and loving part I & II but the rest never again.

Oh My God the movies!

You have to see the movies of this game, they are some of the weirdest cracked up shit I have ever see in a game. These have to have been produced by the same people that have done those old mormon and bible cartoons. This stuff is hilarious!! As for the gameplay itself, its passable. It style strays from the first two games and becomes more like a RTS, the first two settler games are still the best. Not a bad game, just rather dated.

It isn't like before

Compared with Settlers 1 or 2, I do not like Settlers 3. You no longer build roads to enjoy creating logistics networks. Graphics is now 3D and looks bad. Combat is now almost like Command & Conquer or other real time strategy games. I could attack from any distance to any place with any number of soldiers. You do not start with nicely packed storehouse - many piles of various stocks are now outside, looking like a landfill.
