Unhealthy
"Your mind goes numb..." "You are overwhelmed with pain..." "Otherworldly voices linger around you..." As others have pointed out, it's fun and well-made - but I can never recommend it. I should have taken the hint when my video card incinerated itself the first time I loaded the game. I should have turned back from crafting macabre items on a "demon altar" to summon evil entities to fight. I should have quit when told to go to the underworld and make a living sacrifice. Et cetera. But I wanted to progress so I could build more stuff. Almost 1500 hours on Steam. Regret. A game is never just a game, same with books and video and music. All are influence messages from one mind to another - you. Keep your wits about you, carefully taste what you're fed, and don't do anything in a game that you wouldn't do if given the choice in real life. Don't end up like me, having a lengthy recovery to go through.

Sorely lacking content
Better than Trove or Minecraft but still a very empty game 12 hours playing it was enough for me. The better mechanics of crafting which do not destroy the materials accidentally still don't offset the toughness of the enemies and the paucity of rewards, as it creates an artificial scarcity of the main tool crafting materials (metal) without any way to actually find them, except randomly by digging up huge tracts of biomes, by clicking. Also this game is in a sore need of a command queue like the old granddaddy Diablo, because most things you do in Terraria are utterly utterly boring and the speed of the villagers moving in is unacceptably slow (I built up 10+ furnished houses in various parts of various biomes as my bases and have a piddly 3 people living in my village. Overall - not as bad as Minecraft or Trove or some more recent topdown 2d survival games, but still too bad to be interesting. I'm deleting it to never install or play again - there's simply no point. Also - don't buy at full price (8.99 euro) - it's really not worth it.

Not for me
I played for slightly over an hour (1 hour and 15 minutes), but all I could focous on were things that annoyed me: - I hate how I have to scroll through crafting option with keys after pressing C. Give me a nice menu or something under a key I can easily go through and I can navigate fast and with ease. - Why is every new item I get placed under a hotkey?! I can organize that by myself. I would have preffered it if it had been placed in my inventory and I could use it just by clicking on it and disable it by right clicking. - For some reason I hate the nose of a female character. XD - I got assulted by what looked like zombies in a Classic mode world and I'm just "WTH?! How, why, what did I ever do to you?!" I would prefer more control or at least knowing or warning, like "enemies spawning" or just some kind of notification. - I find the way the 2D is handled disoriatating. I would find a 3D enviroment easier to navigate in. - I keept going "WTF?!" at the hitboxes of trees when I wanted to use the axe on them. XD - By what logic are a pickaxe or an axe more effective as mining tool against enemies than a sword? With a sword you can only attack in front of you and with a tool you attack in a 360° circle. Logic not found. - From what I saw there isn't an experiance bar, so even killing moster doesn't feel progressing or purpouseful. - Even with a small Jouney world it just feel empthy and pointless. What am I doing and why? I'm not really seeing a point. While I find Journey mode to be less overwhelming (with wings, an attack pet and god mode) I'm not really enjoying even that. I don't know if my problem is how disorienting I find the 2D enviroment, that nearly nothing in the game feels really fluid and intuative or if it's the feeling that it's devoid of interaction except enemies or if it's the lack of direction on what to do - the "guide" seems to just give me random, unrelaed advice, more like trivia spamming than what I should actually do next.
