Captures the essence of Monkey Island

This is Telltale's entry in the Monkey Island series, and I found it pretty enjoyable. The game is split into 5 chapters, and if you're a fan of Monkey Island, point and click adventures and Telltale's approach to storytelling, then you'll like it. There's a lot of humour in the game, and Telltale have captured the essence of Monkey Island pretty well. Would recommend.

Genuine Monkey Island fun

Longing for more classical Monkey Island fun? This one is a worthy successor. And despite not being produced by LucasArts, everyone is there, including all the voice actors, the wit and the jokes. ... and Murray! MUHAHAHAHAHA!

Worthy addition to the story

Monkey Island 2 was the first game I ever bought with my own money. I tremendously enjoyed it back then. Same with 1 oder 3 to a slightly lesser degree. 4 and Return disappointed me personally. This one ... for me it is a satisfying conclusion to the saga, although not all puzzles make sense and I usually prefer 2D over 3D adventures. The stakes are quite high, there are some intriguing locations and I liked most of the characters (Morgan especially). It is not a legendary point and click, but I vastly prefer it over Return.

One of the best games in the franchise

Underappreciated jewel. One of the best stories in the Monkey Island games, great use of the returning characters (the LeChuck-Elaine-Guybrush dynamics are great, and Voodoo Lady is very intriguing here), interesting newcomers (Winslow and Morgan). Puzzles are not always great and the first 2 episodes are mildly disappointing. But from episode 3 it gets better and better.

Good, but it could be better

I can not say that Telltale has done his best work, but it's a good sequel, with a new style, of course, but with a new, valid, ideas for the plot. Probably many will consider this better than the previous fourth chapter. The graphics is fine and does not betray the cartoon style of the past, in fact, strengthens the pirate side that was weakened. Regarding the flaws, the inventory can be improved, but the most mistake of this production lies in qualitative fall of the final chapter. The fifth if I remember correctly. Because of the episodic nature of Telltale Games, the difficulty and the interesting gag grow very slowly, the first two chapters are simple but acceptable as the beginning of the adventure, the third and fourth are a major improvement, but the fifth is simply ... . rushed. Some puzzles are visibly been abandoned and exploration is too limited for the 'setting. Some clumsy tribute to the first two chapters also appears as a cunning way to quickly close a few scenes. A more open ending for Guybrush, perhaps it would have been more interesting, preferable, but the post credit scene is good to desire the sixth adventure ..,. maybe done in 2d by Daedalic with a better budget .... sigh, see you next decade Guybrush. Ps: One language for a Monkey Island game.....
