Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate
Tales is better than I remembered, a decent entry in the series after the lackluster fourth installment. It's not perfect- the character models and expressions are recycled a lot, the click-and-drag method of walking is annoying compared to point and click, some of the attempts at deeper intrigue and drama don't land quite right, and it has game-crashing bugs in the last two chapters. Thanks to previous reviewer Warmdrink for giving a solution to those, which I'll requote here so people can find it easier: Once you hit these crashes, go to the game installation directory and delete all *.dlg and *.chore files. Worked for me! For all its flaws, it's fun and funny, perhaps not to the heights of the original few games, but well worth playing, with high quality voice acting and decent puzzles.

It's a keeper
Having played the previous Monkey Island games, this one manages to keep the humor, the puzzles and characters interesting throughout. VO is excellent quality (except for Part 2, over compression), the music takes me right back and is enjoyable through the entire game.

played them all ...
where do i start ... i guess right at the beginning ... well, that is what i actually did. i remember having played this game couple of years ago and after i finished it, i thought: well ... not bad, but not quite on par with the first games. so i started a little experiment and i played all 5 parts in chronological order. what surprised me, is that i liked this part the most. yeah, the controls are kinda tricky but other than that ... i am actually a very lazy player. i look up a walk-through the first minute i get stuck. but not with this game. i kinda enjoyed getting stuck. i was patient enough to quit the game when i didn't know what to do and trusted the game that it won't fail me with unfair puzzles. and it didn't. loved every second of it. my personal ranking now? 5, 3, 2, 1, 4

It hurts...
to see Monkey Island in so bad shape. While puzzles are ok-ish (not very original). controls graphics and writing is really underwhelming. It's like a very poor ripoff of the mighty 1 to 3 games. Especially the graphics and animations are soo crappy that I can hardly stand it. The trademark humor has transformed from very smart to explainatory. Don't ruin your old memories of REALLY good games with that... #!stuff.
