My eyes, oh my eyes!
Seems like a decent game that I would buy, but the choice of light colors with neon-like glow and very high contrast is legitimately uncomfortable. I don't know who could function in a space actually lit this way in real life. Far Cry Blood Dragon actually pulled this 80's super retro color scheme, but in SS, it just hurts. Somebodies working for this studio got real high on their artistic vision and forgot to consider how 99% of people see the world and function within it. This is the first game I ever had to not play due to color and lighting choices. If the studio re-masters this remake with lighting that would actually work for a humans to use as a space station or any other similar type of facility, I will buy it. Someone please tell the self-important "artists" who chose this lighting and color scheme that more neutral lighting will actually make the textures and other assets appear more "rich and colorful" and won't blind players.

Broken Demo
Demo is broken - game always freezes somewhere when I am in the first spider bot area. It was a pleasant reunion with my memories past, the layout was the same, the weapons were the same, atmosphere was there, graphics were bettered of course, all was there but still it missed somethings - the tension, the weirdness and the initial immersion in the story to name a few. I know, it's pre-alpha and it was very temping to Kickstart it also as the collectors box and artbook looked nice, It was also nice to see for Nightdive to reach their funding goal but to be frankly, I really don't believe in all those remakes (movies, games, . . .) They always try to overdo the original, you gain some but eventually - in most cases - more was lost in the progress. As I have read their intentions, I fear the loss will outweigh the gain here as well. System Shock will be one of my all time favorites as of many of you, but I don't believe this one will replace it . I will stick with the original and wait for number 3 to waste my money on :)

Enjoyable & stable Demo - Promising!
Full review in forum due to length restrictions Enjoyable & stable Demo - quite promising! - Full first level available / cannot (as of writing) save in the Demo - Cannot seem to be able to block with melee weapons - On 5700XT I was getting (24-39) FPS @4K & about 70-89 FPS @ 2560X1080 all on ULTRA - There are a lot of in game options – all of which are stable (some don’t seem to work) - Ultrawide resolution supported along with a FOV slider - HDR support in options - Tested all game items and game did not crash a single time - Lots more enemies from the original game (but small robots gone) in new Demo - No issues using ladders (unlike previous Demo) Impressions: - Initially more impressed with the visuals of the original Unity demo back then but this one is apparently way more stable doesn’t seem to be CPU intensive - The demo took me an hour to complete and as far as I can tell is representative of the original map - 4K visuals are great but not so much in 1080p so likely more representative to the original game fidelity wise - Some textures could be improved - The colors driving the Spark Beam modes should be changed as they are confusing at first (until you realise what is the actual visual indicator for its strength) - Game looked better with the (non-intrusive) Motion Blur - Disliked default screen curvature (there is a slider in the menus to change it fortunately) - Cursor movement leave a bit to be desired but I got used to them after a while - Found a single more important bug; upon being revived I needed to press ESC to go to the menu and return to the game (otherwise I was stuck in an animation) – and the minor visual glitch was that there is an animation that make you hit out of the surgery machine when using it and attacking - Mag-Pulse did not seem to be efficient against cybernetic enemies P.S. You will know what I mean once you try the Demo but the eyes OMG the eyes I can't look away from them!

Truly Amazing!
This seems like this is going to be a very faithful remake to the original System Shock. The graphics are looking to be glorious (hopefully RTX Ray Tracing gets implimented as well). I enjoyed this Pre-Alpha very much see its potential and cannot wait for the full release of this remake!
