perhaps the best tactical FPS ever

This game has some very good AI, interesting varied settings, well thought-out controls (I actually used to play it through a program called "voice Commander" to send orders to my team mate, and it worked like a charm), and incredible replayability thanks to randomizes AIs position and DISposition. The grafics might be dated, but if you have 3D glasses then do yourself a favour and get this game NOW! The slow movements and close quarters are perfect for stereoscopy! (Other notable games for which this is true are somewhere (high) up there in GOG's wishlist, their respective initials are SS2, DE1 and the T-serie :P

One of the best law-enforcement games

Although the graphics is a bit outdated (as to be expected after all these years) the solid gameplay is still making my hair stand on end after all this time. You play a member of the elite SWAT team and its definiteley not a question of shoot first and ask question later. In this game it is required that you keep your cool and do it "by the book". It presents a whole new challenge to players used to Doom, quake and similar. In the end you are rewarded with a bloodless arrest (if you play it cool) and a successful finish of a mission that did not require any deaths, least of all your own!.

Bought this out of impulse....

And my god is it fun! Despite the absurd default control scheme, make the right changes and you're in for a good short but sweet, fun time :)

True Tactical Shooter

Fantastic game, still play a lot now thanks to gog, if you enjoyed rainbowsix1/rogue spear and the original ghost recon this will not let you down, its of the same high calibre of game, makes you pay a great challenge and good atmosphere. Brilliant stuff all round.

Just play Swat 4 Gold only

Friendly word of advice skip the first, second, and third game, and play the fourth one only, being Swat 4 Gold in the Police Quest Swat series.
