LOVE IT
It is much better than any Need for Speed or any other racing game! Many many years later it is still an amazing game!

Needs little love to run, but runs great
This is the last and only game from my childhood which I wasn't able to play on modern hardware. Even virtual machine didn't help. I'm really glad the game is now reworked to be compatibile with Win7/8/10. It's as amazing as I remember it from many years ago. Not always so obvious. Runs great on laptop with Windows 7 and Mobile Radeon GPU.

Podracing at it's best
I have played this on the PS2 a long time ago but was only formatted for compact disc instead of DVD-ROM which drove my PS2 motor to the point of smoldering. Now it's on PC and no worries about moving parts. After I got past the launch issues and controller enable issues with the helpful hints of the forum, it now plays beautifully with no issues. The podracing in the star wars universe in this game is well expanded on. With different tracks on different planets, choice of different pilots and upgradable podracers, cutscenes, and the original sountrack from the films made it one of the most immersive space racers of it's time. The game starts easy on the first tier, until you beat it, then as the second and third tiercome up, the game gets harder. Racer was the best racing game in the star wars universe, and with all the immersion, it's podracing at it's best.

One of the best.
Thanks GOG! I've honestly waited years for this. Could not get the original release to work. This game is full of nostalgia for me, just a classic game. Everything from gameplay to soundtrack is great. I love the feeling of getting new podracers and going through the scrapyard for new parts. And nothing beats the feeling when you get that Sebulba's orange beast! Btw, I ran the video settings before launching, runs smoothly in 1440p. 10/10.

Works for me no crashes on Win 10 gtx 980 driver version 388.13, have not tried updating yet since it works. Also works with my old force feedback 2 joystick. Only problem there is I found out my mototr is buring out, it is intermittently losing feedback. I would have caught this eariler but no new games support it. This is not a game issue verified with forcetest.exe.... sad times, time to get another FFB2. Game plays great just like I remebered it's super fun!.
