Another good sequel. It is fun to play and the humour is just right for the genre.

I liked it.
A lot of people know the first one feels perfect in every way. This is the second one and it's amazing as long as you're looking at it from a game play perspective. Not to say the story isn't good. It's just lacking. I love the callbacks to the first one time to time, but along the lines of the story it just feels less grand. Less like an adventure with a story and more like a go get the stuff and kill things type of game. I personally love it this way as a stand alone title. Maybe not calling it 2, but something with a :EXTRA TITLE type thing. Like "Shadow Warrior:This girl got darkness inside her!" Shadow Warrior 2 could have focused on someone Wang knew from the old days who wants to ruin the world further and tries breaking open a portal to some candy land looking place. I think a second game should be about furthering the world. This one feels like exploring the same thing.

A Fun Game
Yeah, so this game is basically Payday meets Jackie Chan meets Doom with lots of content and replayability. On top of that it has multiplayer but still enjoyable as a singleplayer game. With crazy abilities, perks and weapons what there is to not to like. It is mindless fun especially with protagonist saying cheesy witty lines all the time, my favorite one being "Are you lost? Need directions? Then take a sharp left and right through my blade" :D

The Way of the Wang is long. And ribbed.
Having played the original in my childhood, I can say it doesn't capture the same feeling, but it does a great job standing on its own with a complex game system that keeps you hooked and some freedom of movement between missions. The world is immersive, beautiful, and makes even walking around a treat if you're a fan of Eastern architecture and landscapes. My only nag is the lack of witty replies from Wang, a lot of the fun of the classic was in those, there could have been more, and with a better tone of voice. The voice actor sounds like a silly gangster instead of the insane gun-toting samurai we knew and loved from the classic.
