Return of the Obra Dinn

Game of the Decade.

An extremely simple, almost boring premise on paper, but it sucked me in like few games had in recent years. A very satisfying and well executed mix of storytelling and deduction! For anyone wondering, you can go into this game with zero prior knowledge of how sailing and ship crews used to work, but some general knowledge could be useful (recognising some foreign languages, for example)

A fantastic puzzle game based on deductive reasoning. Sometimes you can leverage the confirmation system to gain information but otherwise all clues can be found through perception, knowledge of ships and reasoning through events.

This is truly a wonderful game. It has a unique 3d black and white presentation that resembles no other game. Also the story starts as something ordinary and quickly turns into a strange fantasy tale with strange creatures and other fantasy elements. The mechanic of the game is also very unique (a lot of later games like case of the golden idol tried to use the same basic idea) and the joy of finding each time the correct combination of three correct book entries will make you feel like a genius.
