Love it!

This game really hits the right spot for me. I'm not sure I can even review it objectively. Somehow Owlcat always chooses the settings that I really love. First fey, now demons! Perfect! I know not everyone loves old-school isometric RPGs but man do I like the atmosphere! That being said, not everything is perfect but I am still giving it five stars because it really got me hooked. What I did not care for much in Kingmaker was the city building and it's basically the same here. It's just not fleshed out enough to be good in its own rights and the genre clashes with the roleplaying aspect of the game in my opinion. Now we also get to play Heroes of Might & Magic / King's Bounty. At first, I wasn't super into it, again - distraction, but I kinda started liking it after a while. It can provide some entertainment and mix things up a little. What I really liked about WotR was its sheer size. Kingmaker already took me a long time to finish and this one feels even more epic. You got some nice mass battles and also you get a lot of choose-your-own-adventure style texts, in which you get to make some decisions concerning the story and your character. So while the story is not super deep or emotionally engaging it still creates a really interesting world and atmosphere. The map and exploring the paths on it can be a bit confusing and frustrating at times but I am so thankful for the turn-based option during fights! This makes the game so much better in my opinion! I put many hours into it and I plan to replay it with a different character and alignment as soon as I am through with it. It's such a good game! Some people may find the graphics or the isometric view in general lacking and some may find the game a bit repetitive. Otherwise, I think it's really good at what it does and I am definitely going to buy the next iteration of the pathfinder games to support the developers! Five out of five stars for me!

Released about a year too early.

The game itself is an upgrade from their previous title in almost every way, but it launched with a ton of bugs and missing features. Just like Kingmaker i would expect to wait atleast another year for all the bugs to be ironed out and all the planned features to be added. It is currently not even possible to finish the game realiably unless you know what gamebreaking bugs to avoid in advance. As for the game itself, the varied choice of classes and sub classes lets you build just about any kind of character you could want and the combat is even better than Kingmaker. The only critiques i can offer aside from all the bugs is that the overall writing outside of the official campaign itself is still often quite bad, but it is noticably better than Kingmaker. And while they have replaced the god awful kingdom management aspect with an overland strategy game in the style of Heroes Of Might And Magic, it is still a pointless and immersion breaking phonegame standing between you and the actual game which you are forced to deal with. Definetly worth a buy if you liked Kingmaker, but i would wait a few months for the worst of the bugs to get sorted out.

Favorite D&D style game I've played

I've logged around 250 hours into this game and I can't wait to play more! Just playing this game through once isnt enough; each mythic path and story decision offers a interesting and new story. Choices feel meaningful and effect you and the world, something I feel many games miss. I also really enjoyed the crusade mode, though it took me some time to figure out how it worked. The companion charaters keep you engaged in the game and your relationships with them feel rewarding. The controler comptablity is a nice touch, although its a bit buggy at times. My only real complant about the game is that the puzzles are often nearly impossible to solve and the clues for them are extremely vague and difficult to find. I used guides for almost all but one puzzle.

There's No Spyware

DISCLAIMER: Not every review, even popular takes, are accurate nor actually understand the object of their review. (Remember, stupidity follows ignorance). Despite the avid and passionate approach of some reviewers, the game does NOT contain any spyware. This has come about from an ignorant and fear-based attempt to understand the EULA. What they're confusing for spyware is actually nothing more than the game reporting for telemetry (technical information required to maintain a game and keep it up to date). Unfortunately, the most popular review on this site, masquerading as an authority on the subject, fails to even understand what is contained in the EULA, yet claims to explain it in a way for the masses to understand. Instead, they are only sharing their own extremely subjective flavor of fear-mongering and misinformation. What the EULA actually explains is that the game will report back to the developers with the specs and hardware of the machine you are using, which is necessary in order to keep the game updated and playing nice with all the different software, hardware, and associated drivers, for example. If you want a game to actually run on your machine, then you want this. Please, from an opinion on your own, supported only by reviews based on truth. I'll say it again: Stupidity follows Ignorance. And, the top review is FULL of ignorance.

Good Game with Bugs

tl;dr great game, great foundation but "early acess feeleing" (rough around the edges, minor bugs, minor design flaws), 1 mayor bug encountered. IT IS WORTH 50 BUCKS, but yea just wait till the game is POLISHED and buy it for 30.
