Amazing 5 Stars!!

Thank you to the Cyan team whop put this together!!!!! Obduction was everything I hoped for being a super Myst fan (I've played all the Myst games several times each because I couldn't get enough). The Unreal Wngine 4 is awesome, unbelievable graphics, totally immersive.. I played the PC version both with the Steam controlleron on my 4K flatscreen and on my PC 23" monitor with the mouse, both worked great. I replaced my old PC with one that met Cyan's recommendations for running Obduction and I'm glad I did. Getting a good video card with 4GB memory really helped (fluid motion, no freezing) so don't scrimp on processor power, RAM and video for the best experience.. The storyline is unique and with patience the puzzles are solvable; The puzzles are mostly for finding your way around the different worlds. This game is a steal for $30. I hope this was a success for Cyan so that they keep producing games like this.

Loved It

I really enjoyed playing this game. I have really missed playing Myst and it's successors, and this took me back in a great way. It goes smoothly from relaxing to eerie and back, from placid exploration to head scratching puzzles. On more than one occasion while playing the game, I was delighted to find that the game kept opening up new areas and ideas. It has a fun story that, true to the best story telling, left me wanting to find out more. I frequently found myself taking my time, looking in every nook and cranny, just savoring the experience and not wanting it to end. I hope that Cyan is able to make more games in this style; for my taste, this is the best way to enjoy my game time.

Myst series ideas exploited

Very interesting gradation of Myst 1-5 and Uru ideas. For playing you need use your intelligence such as intuition for solve puzzles. This one let me thinking about "Green Homunculi" and humans abdutions from X-Files franchise. However, this game time-to-time let me thinking about I.M. Banks's Oxendaray world (from cyrcle "Culture") and failed contacts by S. Lem's darya-e-Solaris is Allah such as tree is Allah (I use arabism as more correct to this context). Gameplay is like a kind of theatre of absurd, more playing means more psychedelic. What kind of drugs developers are used? Lol. And at last, system requirements are quiet higher than IRL indeed so. It's really enough to use modern i3 series CPUs and NVidia GT videoadapters (higher than 700), however GT-730 would be enough to play hi-mid graphics up to FullHD resolution

Wonderful so far

Have been a fan of Cyan since Myst. Liked Uru the best because of the vast exploration. spent months playing it. Loved Revelations for its graphics. Loved Riven and Exile for their stories. Myst, the first one I played for being over and above the best game for its time, out classed anything up to its time. Obduction has the best graphics by far, story is pretty darn good. A lot more running around than the others, but so far has been fine with me. Not really that far into it. I love adventure games the best because of the exploring. Obduction has amazing graphics which is really a plus in the exploring part. Am having troubles with the puzzle parts but it's just me (66 years old and senile?). Will finish it eventually, with excellent adventure games as rare as they are these days, I have plenty of time to spend on it before anything as excellent (or close) comes out.

Cyan's still got it

I didn't realize how much I missed the Myst games until I played this. But this reminds you of what Cyan does so well: the mysterious, empty, yet beautiful and compelling world; the many puzzles just placed there without explanation, tantalizing but stubbornly opaque until you unlock something else: obscure clues that give you a real feeling of victory when you finally connect them together. This is one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a while. There are only three points of criticism: 1) Seriously, no customizable controls? 2) By their nature, many puzzles involve going back and forth across level loads. I wish that had been optimized better. 2) You spend a lot of time walking back and forth across the game world, moving between puzzles, going around obstacles, etc. It gets a bit tedious when you're backtracking instead of exploring. Myst games were like that too of course, but Obduction doesn't have the lightning bolt to move you along more quickly. None of these criticisms were enough to lose it a star, however. Overall a really great game, and I hope Cyan is back in business and starts making more games.
