Great for what its going for

I am really enjoying this game. I was never really interested in playing as a mage, but a First person view, magic blasting spell casting fps mage game. For the price i got it at, i would be stupid not to buy it. I love fps games and this is different. It took me almost an hour to learn what to do and how to play. Once i learned how to mix and match perks and abilities to craft and customize spells. i was hooked. Yes you mostly follow what seem like somewhat linear paths but the environments and effects make up for it. it looks great for its age. It Can get fast paced and action packed at points, and very fun. but it takes a little time to learn and get use to it. Then again i dont usually play games with so much magic crafting and buffs?/Debuffs? either way it explains everything and even has videos to show you a large variety of helpful tips. I would say 3.8/5. But i got this game on sale for less than a dollar so i guess i am just happy with this purchase!

Beautiful but repetitive mage-shooter

Lichdom isn't really a bad game. It has tight controlls nice graphics and a surprisingly sophisticated (but poorly explained) spell crafting system which can really get you hooked once you figured it out. Where this game falls short is storytelling and level design: hours and hours and hours of linear corridors filled with the same old encounters and barely any narrative highlights. What would have been great fun for a 10h game does not necessarily work for a 20h+ game... Tip: if the game seems to difficult at times: upgrade your shield.

Dark Messiah's Spiritual Successor

A linear fantasy action game in which you're an over powered godlike mage, discovering just how overpowered and using and combing powers in awesome ways is satisfying. Basically it's the Unofficial Sequel to Dark Messiah.

Shooter mit Magie

Es spielt sich wie ein First Person Shooter, statt Schusswaffen hat man jedoch eine Vielzahl an Zaubern zur Verfügung. Sehr innovatives Konzept, das gut funktioniert. Positiv: + Grafik: Landschaften und Zaubereffekte sehen fantastisch aus, obwohl das Spiel schon ein paar Jahre alt ist + Kämpfe sind enorm spaßig + große Vielfalt an Gegnern + viele verschiedene Zauber, die man upgraden kann + Story fängt etwas verwirrend an, wird aber gut + Freie Charakterwahl (männlich / weiblich) mit jeweils voller Sprachausgabe Negativ: - Charaktermodelle - Nicht einsteigerfreundlich: Man sollte wirklich ein Tutorial auf YouTube anschauen oder das Journal sehr genau lesen, da es viele verzahnte Spielmechaniken gibt.

Brainless Fun. Pew pew.

This game really scratches the blow things up itch I got going. They really knocked the feeling of casting spells out of the park. It also is not hard. Even on the second to hardest difficulty, I only died to an impossible enemy once so far. I'm all for that, though. I'm not looking for a challenge. I'm looking for relaxing destruction. Got it on sale for a buck. Very very worth it.
