Polished playable novel
A rather simplistic point and click with lush, slick, if childish graphics marred a little by a little bit of race identity politics. Graphical quality is superb, though you'll have tio pull the slider way down to make it playable and non jerky on older machines, while the soundtrack is atmospheric. Voice acting is clear though bloodless and bland.

Well written and visually beautiful.
A polished and visually beautiful point-and-click adventure, with a strong story and a diverse cast of characters (all of whom are flawed and given real depth). Herald deals with some sensitive topics (racism, colonialism, slavery, paedophilia, suicide). While I feel it's done with care, it's not a light-hearted game and I wasn't expecting it, but that's a good thing. It's got a couple of good twists - some are easier to guess than others - but there's little clues scattered throughout the game, laying the groundwork so that the plot never jumps the shark as it were. It's fairly short but I don't say that as a bad thing, and I appreciate shorter games. This one is very respectful of your time too, with no pointless grinding or 'filler' content. I'm very much looking forward to books 3 and 4 which will be released later this year and I'll be interested to see how the choices I've made in books 1 and 2 affect the story and the characters.

Nur für richtige Kerle
Keine Sorge, an Board der Herald wird keine Frau zu Schaden kommen - richtige Kerle managen das Schiff und sind fröhlich unter Decke aktiv. Es geht raus nach Indien, wo die Wurzeln unseres Hauptdarstellers Deven Rensburg liegen. Was ihn in Indien erwartet, hätte ihn gewiss überrascht und bleibt uns ein Rätsel - Book III und IV fehlen leider noch. Aber insgesamt ganz nett zu spielen und je nach Entscheidung nimmt die Geschichte einen anderen Verlauf.

Keeps you guessing
Just as I thought I knew where the story was going... it would twist. Charming and fun game, with beautiful art. I look forward to Books III & IV.
