The best adventure classic RPG

This game is fantastic. It has so many care and work on how it is done, and the graphics look beautiful. Of course, you have to know that you buy an old school RPG, similar to Eye of the Beholder. You also have to read the manual, learn how to play. Most of it is very intuitive and fun,but you have to read it, and easily you will remember all because it's very logical. By reading the manual you immediately see how much depth the game has, and it's like reading a tabletop rpg manual. Everything in this game is made with love, dedication and lots of work. The programming should have taken a lot of time and effort. The game is very open, it looks beautiful, and is very fun. Of course, you will read reviews here of people who didn't like it. Those reviews are by people that: - Don't know what they purchased, because they didn't read the description nor looked at the screenshots. - Were born only some years ago, and never played a real RPG - Ask for stunning modern graphics instead of colored old fashion graphics - Don't like to read the manual, and pretend that a game of such depth works the way they want and not the way it was made You also have to understand that this is old school in one more thing: you have to be cautious, gain levels as you learn how to play, read the manual first (again), and not pretend that the game forgives your mistakes. This is how we learned to play in the 80-90s: try, fail, re-try, then retry until perfection. If you find this is for you, you will love this beautiful and fun game. I think it's the best in its genre.

der klassiker...

Es war einmal vor sehr langer zeit ein spiel genannt wizardry.nun haben wir hier das remake vor uns zu liegen.zugegebenermassen etwas schwierig für heutige spieler seelen doch früh übt sich... du suchst ein spiel wo man endlos leveln kann ohne viel schnick schnack und so nen zeug.dann bist du hier richtig:geile mucke klasse pixel graphik fantasievoll und nie langweilig vorausgesetzt du stehst auf einfaches gameplay und handling...zugegebenermassen die story bleibt undurchsichtig.infos im game selber sind nur umständlich zu bekommen.aber genau darin liegt der reiz-zu sehen wie es weitergeht denn das spiel environement gibt einiges her von der retro seite her gesehen.endlose stunden langen spielspass ohne viel aufwand doch der geignete spieler sei gewarnt skillen will geplant sein-das ist das gesetz von grimoire-wizardry.doch welchen fan kümmerts das spiel-ein evergreen -eignet sich bestens zum mehrmaligen durchspielen... also- wann bist du dabei???

Great for elite gamers but not all...

This game does what it says it does and does it well! It is a hardcore game meant for the upper echelon of gamer and it shows, in both the design and difficulty, so this review is not for the choir as the game's tailor made for the HCGamer; so by all means get the game if you consider yourself as one of them, you won't be disappointed... For those who are not; read on as a warning. I gave the game 3 stars as it does not mislead gamers in the slightest of what it is and it is well designed for those type of gamer, just prepare yourself for the chore of 5-10 minute individual battles and 1-2 hour preparations into your character and the game, as it takes serious commitment and free time as you'll spend 2-4 hours easily just with the first town alone if you don't touch the difficulty/spawn rate settings! (Ironic as the maps are small compared to EotB/Wizards and warriors/UUW/the bard's tale trilogy!) The game is a grueling challenge for those that are not addicted to challenge, as this game is not made for you; I do love the character generation aspect, the gorgeous artwork and glorious UI, the feel of the classics won me over as well as the overall game itself, but it was the difficulty for difficulty's sake that made me take off two stars, I prefer wizards & Warriors/EotB/Grimrock's/UUW's difficulty curve instead! (And the bandits have the most irritating sounds I ever heard in a videogame!) TLDR: Get this game if you're a HCGaming masochist: +3 stars; but stay clear if you're not: -2 stars!

If Wizardry 7 was your favourite of them

Of the 8, if Wizardy 7 was your favourite I'd imagine you'd really like this one too. You'll see others say it; it is painfully slow, even when clicking or pressing enter to get the combat text going by faster it's still kind of awful pace wise. Exploration though, the world, interactions and all of that though is fairly fun. Love having to manually investiage walls AND having to search them with a button to find secrets and stuff. Honestly I would have been happy paying full price for this though, and since I got it for about one Canadian dollar I'm very happy with it. It feels like it's from when the game was first being worked on; that has to be some kind of normal and I doubt there was a following that was adding pressure (sort of like these people that aren't exactly fans.) There is a good game beyond the slow pace; maybe it's not something you'll broadcast to every person you walk by but there's fun for sure.
