Perfect for 90s RPG fans

A 20 year labour-of-love from an American/Australian ex-military-man . Half mad-man, half-neanderthal, Cleveland M. Blakemore realized his dream of bringing an old-school RPG akin to Wizardry 6/7 to the market in 2017. This is a rare-gem of a game, similar to which we might never get again. Systems appear complex at first, and the community had to build alot of guidance on their own to understand it. But meanwhile, a manual has been supplied and the bugs have been removed. If you're a fan of early 90s: get it now. If you're not? This is a great introduction.

Could have been fantastic

Except that there's simply no reliable information for the game, especially regarding the differences between different versions. The manual is extremely unhelpful and outdated and blatantly incorrect. Character planning is therefore almost impossible, and planning is needed if you want mage characters who won't die instantly to an archer. The early game is painfully slow. Everything misses (I guess spells and abilities were nerfed at some point) and trading misses isn't fun. Eventually, you can hit, and everything dies or gets controlled in one round, including bosses. Then even further in, enemies will just oneshot you with Lethal Blow. Your only choice is to have high speed characters do it to them first, if you're lucky. Your casters will always go last, even Hasted with max Speed. So combat is a mess. It's both too easy and too hard. I've never seen a fight with the right amount of challenge. You can't speed up spells or music using Enter, so fights drag on. There's no communication with the dev, anywhere. There are no patch notes for v3. Just avoid it until the dev puts in another 23 years of time.

Wizardry 7.5 - Honestly.

If you loved Wizardry 7, you're going to enjoy this game. I hit quick start, just to get a feel for the game - and my immediate thought was, "This is exactly like Wizardry 7." The entire feel of the game, feels like Wizardry - from the visuals, the spells, the races. So if you loved Wizardry 7, I'd highly recommend this game. Especially since right now - it's on sale for 99 cents! That's a great cost for such a great game. I am venturing through it with my own custom party now and enjoying it. It's difficult (as in it doesn't hold your hand), but if you loved old RPGs (which is what this boasts!) then you're going to love it. If you want something like Dragon Age, this is not the game for you.

Its friday my dudes!

The crackerkack, he finally did it! Get this ASAP if you are into Wizardry 6-7 and know what to expect, because chances are we won't get any more stuff like this in the next 20 years. It's rough around the edges but totally worth it for the fans. If you have no idea what this is and never playd wiz, avoid at all costs! And remember, always bet on a 'thal!

Huge and Interesting things overwhelming

I like wizardry games. Especially the 6th and 7th. This game is a clone. Moreover, there are more advanced ones. increased convenience. Graphics enhancements. Clear sound and screen. A product of 20 years of hard work. The evaluation of rpg codex is not wrong. It looks like a very good game for a very long time. Your own party of 8. tension. immersion. The terrible interface is a huge downside. But don't make the mistake of not seeing the shiny gem because of that flaw.
