Top tier game

As many have stated before me, the game is an improved Fallout 1 and really well done so. It's bigger, feels deeper and the immersion is even greater! Items are expanded as are locations and NPCs. The plot is also engaging! The AI is improved but you'll encounter the occasional "funny" moments (like enemies staying near your companions and your companions just staring at them instead of attacking, or companions using a spray attack on each other etc) but those won't ruin your experience even the slightest. Also now you can customize your companions better, since you can give them weapons and armors to wear, plus they can improve their abilities the longer they are with you. Get it!!! NOTE: Some people have Fallout 1, 2 or Tactics in their library but still seeing those as "purchaseable" in their respective pages. The reason is most probably because they have the "classic" versions in their libraries and not those "new" ones. Probably a fantastic game but no Mac OSX Support anymore! GOG lost the rights to publish the OSX version.

Back in 1999 Fallout 2 was the first ever RPG game i played, and opened for me the gates of a whole new world. Now some 20 years later i have downloaded the GOG version and oh,boy - the game, even with it's flaws, is still great. Now, about the GOG release - it runs fine on Win 10, i have tried the Hi-Res launcher but didn't saw some real difference. And i got game crashes two or three times during my run ( i did an optimal character run on Twitch) but it's OK for a 20 years old game. For sure 5 out of 5 start and will play it again in few years with my kids

It's true this game is one of the milestones of cRPG evolution and back in its time it was a huge achievement in terms of openness, writing and mechanics. It is also bugged with issues that can make the game frustrating (disappearing car anyone?). It used to be a pinaccle of game development so if you played this back in the days and want to relive the experience, it's definitely worth going for it again. I'd suggest to add Fallout Restoration Project to have modern resolutions and some other tweaks. If you're new to the series (or, even worse, you know only F3 and later ones), be cautious as this may not live up to your expectations. Having said that - even then it's worth to buy it on sale if only to check out for yourself whether the hype is justified or not.
