Good old game!
Extremely positive experience even despite of archaic graphics. The only bug I ran into during two complete walkthroughs is the loss of some specific weapons while migrating the character to Awakening addon.

They're coming... and you must die...
... to become what you will become. Bioware outdid themselves with Dragon Age: Origins. This was such an incredible game - the mechanics, the story of the Grey Warden, the lore - the only - ONLY thing I'd recommend - is doing the cavern last - because the scenery doesn't change much - and it's a LONG part of the game. Dragon Age: Origins RAPIDLY hit the top of my favorite games - EVER! Sadly, the following Dragon Age 2, wasn't as good, and Dragon Age 3 while massive in size, never did for me what Origins did. STRONGLY recommend this game if you've never played it.

Great "classic" CRPG for better or worse
I love this game. Everything that has been discussed in earlier reviews as con is a positive for me: micro managing, constant battles, insistence on customization and paying attention to what's happening in the log... it takes back all that has been present in mid 90s to early 2000s era crpgs and repackages it without much changes aside from some qof improvements. If you liked Icewind Dale 2 and BG2 you should like Dragon Age as well - it falls somewhere in between those titles as far as everything goes.

Stands the test of time
If you're into story-rich, well-written, interactive gaming experiences, with complex characters and development, look no further. This game has infinite replay-ability. It's now 2023, and people are still playing it. That said, it was designed in 2009, and some bugs were never officially patched; so I don't recommend it without loads of mods and customization. These can be found (free) on Nexus Mods. I also recommend the 4GB patch and large address aware patches. They prevent crashing, particularly if you want high resolution (more contemporary) graphics, more custom options, and more realistic looking characters and textures. If you're ambitious and frisky there's also the DAToolset. Unlike a lot of other games, this one comes with a programs especially for modding enthusiasts. You can even create your own campaigns and share them with fellow gamers. As other reviewers have aptly stated, there are some tedious areas. Namely, anything to do with The Fade. Get the "Skip the Fade" mod if nothing else. You'll thank yourself for it.
