Worth a play
Game is fun for what it is (being a somewhat older Bathesda game) and has good replayability. The second one definitely does things better than the first one, but also some things are worse about it. Fun game if you get it cheap/free, and if you REALLY wanna play it I'd say it's also worth it full price.

Player Choice (within reason)
What sticks out to me is that... I can't pick locks... but I can teleport up the sides of buildings and skip whole sections of levels. So its like the devs knew where to let the player go wild and approach an objective in their own way, and also where to provide guildelines and rules that create challenge. Its a hard balance to strike and this game is so fun

Love it
Haven't played many games these last few years - not new ones, anyway - but this gem was definitely worth both the money and the time. Not a fan of first person view. Not a big fan of stealth games. This game is both and I love it.

Second best in the series.
This is based on playing the "Definitive Edition" in the "Complete Edition": I think I played through the first game twice with more killing and more aggression the second time to see the different endings. That I bothered to play through it twice is a good sign ;-) Spent some time on the downloadable content and liked them. I did not, but also playing the individual missions gives you even more bang for your bucks. I liked the atmosphere, the story, the graphics, the characters and so on in this game. No big bugs for me. The biggest problem with this game and what I missed the most is the lack of a "Game+". I believe the first game is worth 4 solid stars.

Steampunk. Gothic. Stealth.
Let it not be a perfect stealth action game, but it is one of the best representatives of this genre. Let me explain. Despite the fact of the physical obsolescence of the Unreal Engine 3 engine, the graphics in the game are very stylish and can give a Gothic atmosphere, and the locations are worked out to the smallest detail. The characters may look like cartoons, but everything is fine with the clothes. Stylish was not only the graphics, but also the sound. It began to manifest itself in the trailer with the song Drunken Whaler and was boldly fixed in the game by the soundtrack from Daniel Licht. The plot turned out to be interesting, there are even plot twists and several endings. At the same time, it was not without cliches. Each character has its own backstory, storyline, and internal motivation. There is a place for conspiracies, intrigue, political assassinations and treachery. The Lord Protector, Corvo Attano, needs to restore his good name and help establish his legitimate authority. It is perfectly complemented by 2 DLC, where you can play as the assassin Daud. Passing the game on stealth is interesting, but boring due to the lack of variety of neutralization techniques. Kill enemies here is beautiful because of the well-developed combat mechanics. You can use various abilities (Blink, Dark Vision, etc.) and various amulets, which are enough in the locations. They correctly approached the elimination of plot goals: if there are alternatives, the goal can be eliminated gracefully. For this, the game is a solid 5+. Surprisingly, next year the game will have a well-deserved 10-year anniversary. In 2021, after the release of the second part and the addon to it, it is very pleasant to return to the first part and pass it at a high level of difficulty with a low level of chaos. The game definitely deserves to be bought by fans of the stealth action genre, so feel free to support Arkane Studios.
