Dead Cells ist ein von Metroidvania inspiriertes Roguelite Action-Jump ’n Run. Du erkundest ein weitläufiges Schloss, das sich stets verändert. Töten, sterben, aus Fehlern lernen... und wieder von vorn.
In Dead Cells erlangst du die Kontrolle über ein fehlgeschlagenes alchimistisches Experiment und versuchst, herauszufinden, was auf einer weitläufigen und scheinbar verfluchten Insel vor sich geht.
Unsterblich bist du zwar, doch angeschlagen – deine letzte Chance ist es, andere Körper zu übernehmen: für die Bewegung, Erkundung ... und den Kampf.
Erlebe ein RogueVania, in dem die ständige Gefahr eines finalen Todes die in sich verbundene Welt und freischaltbare Fähigkeiten durchdringt. Keine Checkpoints. Entweder du besiegst den finalen Gegner oder du versuchst es erneut. Einen Teil deines Fortschritts darfst du aber für weitere Durchgänge behalten: neue Pfade, die du freigeschaltet hast, Zugang zu neuen Levels, Fähigkeiten und Waffen.
Harte, aber faire Kämpfe, reaktionsschnelle Steuerung, fordernde Gegner, ein finaler Tod und natürlich die panische Ausweichrolle, mit der du Ärger vermeidest, machen Dead Cells zu einem anspruchsvollen, intuitiven und kathartischen Spiel voller Action.

Don't buy on GOG
A very, very fine game. If you like the castlevania style, you will love it. Don't think, buy. But don't buy it on GOG. Drm or not, the Steam Version is better, because obviously your money is worth less ojn GOG. Patches will arrive much slower, you have no access to alpha or beta versions and there are no mods at all.

Awesome game but lacks features
In strict alignment with the guidlines for reviews (please take apeak at rule two) I'd like to say the following words. The game is great, there have been enough reviews about that. But since the 8th of November (two months from this review) I got the personal impression that this game lacks some essential features. Imagine Dead Cells with the possibility to make custom games. It would be so great that I'd give it five stars.

The game is great but...
Do not get me wrong, the game is fantastic and I spent countless hours playing it. Now that I have finished in all the difficulties I wanted to try a MOD to get easier the initial weapon I want instead of spending more hours waiting for the one I want to try, but I find that MODs are only available on Steam. I got really frustrated looking for a way to install them, but they do not even let me download them from Steam since I do not have the game bought there. When they add support for MODs here and we can also download where they are published (Steam or anywhere else) I will give it the appropriate 5 stars that deserve, until then I will leave 1 with the hope that will call attention to the developers to change this, because it seems unfair so much exclusivity on Steam.
