Daikatana

First off, this game is bad, that is all I shall say on that subject, countless others before and after me will flog that subject to death. The point of this game is to remember the good times. A time when John Romero and John Carmack worked together on DOOM, Wolfenstein, Dangerous Dave, and Commander Keen. Do not purchase this game expecting a good time, purchase it as a comparison to their other works, to prove that what they did together as a company far exceeded what they did alone. This game was the closing chapter of the id rein, to prove that it did not end with a whisper, but with a violent horrific bang.

I know why it got a release but what it needs is a fan mod to fix everything broken about it. Sadly what is broken is everything. There are no saving graces to this game, it is noones favourite, I seriously doubt anyone has any fond memories of this game.

Say what you like about Daikatana, ( and people do). But its a colorful, over the top, cheesey, flawed shooter where I can carry more than 2 weapons an a few grenades and on that basis alone its better than most crap around today, 5 stars

this game had me wishing for more when i finally beat it years ago. i'm not even kidding either, becuase of how much everybody else hated it, people will think this review is a joke. its not, this game is literally one of my favorite games of all time. I look past all its flaws and just see it for the fun it has to offer, and i gotta tell you, if you willing to do that you'll find one of the greatest games out there in this game.

As other have said, this game is definitely underrated and does not deserve the negativity. It is certainly not the greatest game in the world but I had a good time playing it and still remember it fondly. I would recommend it to friends.
