Cyberpunk 2077

First scene of the game, in the garage, foliage from the outside floating in the garage. and that concludes my review for this early access game. Pros: + quite promissing for an early access game, i keep looking into the first scene after each update to Cons: - needs a lot of polishing (pun intented) - basic charachter making, or the interface did not hint on anything else than the available pre-built choices (face parts etc) - the game boldly sets everything to highest (2K resultion with ultra) and it was 15 FPS with my 3700X amd + 1070 8GB OC built, in the freaking garage! - objects are appearing disappearing, even my cloths suddenly appeared after 10 seconds - game has serious content streaming issue, on 32GB RAM and SSD it takes long time to load assets. eaither longer load time to pre-load assets, or optimize until last drop of last developers blood... I think CD Projeckt management dropped the ball on this project badly. again, at best this is an early access game

First lets start what I liked: 1. The game world looks amazing. (Graphics) 2. The game world is interesting lore wise (For example soviets are still around, learned that in a side quest good stuff. Advertisings seen on TV where they talk about using poison to combat homeless issues in the sewers etc just fit this grim world.) 3. Not a lot of bugs. People complain about bugs, but... Compare this to other games on day < 10 and its not that big of a deal. Yes there are still a few issues, i have had a couple but none of them were truely game breaking for me. most did not even require reloading a safe game. Now lets go to what I did not like about this game: 1. The main story is bad in my opinion. I hate Johnny Silverhand and his character. I have googled what the fastest way to get rid of him is but It turned out that this is the main plot and it all revolved around him. Because of this it is unlikely that I will finish this game. From what I have read on the internet its unlikely that any of the endings to this will be satisfying enough for me. 2. The story thus far also appears to be completely linear. 3. The Dialogue while well acted and well made it does not allow for many or in some cases "any" choices. 4. The side quests are mostly simple "fetch/kill" quests with maybe 1 or 2 lines of dialogue at the start/end via the phone. 5. Gun Gameplay is just bad. After a couple of hours I ditched guns and I am now only using meele weapons and maybe shotguns. 6. Hacking is a gimmick just like in watchdogs for example. 7. The UI is almost as bad to navigate and operate than the excel tools I have to use at work. I had to google how to do simple things with this UI... 8. Clothing/Gear looks bad. You almost always look like some drug addict from a street corner unless your willing to ignore stats and go for looks. 9. Skill progression is unintuitive at times. To sum it up: The game has its moments but several core flaws prevent it from being a good game.

This game have so many bugs that I loose all my interest to play in it. Cortroles on PC are terrible and ill-considered. So now I'll wait for repair for this bugcity. If You want to buy this game please wait.

I plan to complete it, enjoy it for what it is, and then likely never play it again, There is no player choice, no reason to replay, no build variety, nothing. The dialogue options are boring and give you no agency. Its literally Fallout 4 all over again in that regard (yes, no, but actually yes, sarcastic yes). Lots of features that seem like they should have been in the game but were cut. The world itself is extremely static and boring. If you don't think about it as an RPG at all and focus on it as soley a Ubisoft-tier action adventure FPS then its pretty enjoyable and has a well done city as a backdrop. Bugs and other issues aside, the core story/gameplay seems okay and shooting actually feels good. The hacking elements seem under-developed but the core idea isn't bad. Driving is pretty weak, AI is some of the worst I've ever seen. The looter shooter feel the game has is also cheap and personally not my thing. I haven't spent enough time playing but I'm also worried the quests are going to be extremely boring and end up the same (go here, shoot). Hopefully not, but so far I'm not impressed. The truth is, buying any AAA game on or near launch is usually a gamble and one that seldom pays off. This game is no different. People who pick up the inevetable GOTY editions with all the expansions and patches in place at a discount in a couple years will be in for a much better experience. Unfortunately, the full potential of this game will likely never be realized.

If you want to play as a edgy, over-the-top street samurai who things with his temper and iron piece, you are in luck. If not, you are in a sea of trouble. However, up to date, there hardly is a better love-letter game to Cyberpunk genere.
