Breath of Fire IV
Beschreibung
In a far-away world, two continents float, separated by a vast swamp-land. For eons, no contact existed between the two continents because ships couldn’t sail across the expanse. At last, when the historic first contact was made between the two powers, war erupted!
After long and costly fighting between the Fou Empire in the west and an alliance of countries in the east, both sides exhausted all their strength and resources. With no other alternative, the two powers agreed to an armistice.
One year later, Princess Elina vanished. She had been traveling in the east from town to town, exploring battlegrounds and visiting war veterans. Her trail vanished in a small town near the front line. Nobody knew her whereabouts!
The Eastern Alliance wanted to avoid sending a large army to the front. Such a move would be a political blunder, breaking the armistice and stirring up hostilities. It became impossible to carry out a large-scale search for Elina. Time passed... with no sign of the princess.
Elina’s sister, Princess Nina, finally makes up her mind. She leaves on a journey in search of her sister – by herself.
Ryu
Ryu meets Nina while he is lying unconscious on a street in a desert town in the eastern continent. His race and native land are unknown. Ryu has a Dragon’s Eye, which empowers him with the amazing abilities to transform into a dragon and summon dragons.

Nina
The princess of Wyndia, a town of the Fae tribe (winged folk). Nina meets Ryu on her journey to seek her lost sister Elina. Though somewhat naïve, Nina is skilled in Healing magic.

Cray

Back in the ring to take another swing.
Around 12 years ago, I had a Playstation 3 Slim model and bought this as a PS1Classic on the Playstation Store. I played it while on vacation from my job for a week starting on Sunday and finished the following Saturday. I really enjoyed the interconnecting stories of Fou-Lu, the God Emperor of the Fou Empire, and Ryu. Normally, it's hard for me to stay glued to a game without frequently getting distracted. But, I was hooked on this game from start to finish. When I saw it was available here on GOG, I thought about it and considered it for awhile. Then, finally, I bit the bullet and bought this game again for another playthrough and I'm glad I did. It's stable, runs really well, and the more I play, the more the memories of my previous playthrough from years ago come flooding in. Thank you to CD Projekt and GOG for this awesome release and thank you Capcom for such an amazing game. I'm looking forward to seeing more enjoyable titles release thanks to the GOG Dreamlist. Keep up the good work. :)

No brainer purchase
Thank you, GOG and Capcom, for this. This is one of my most beloved games. I've asked for remasters or remakes of this franchise countless times, and I still hope for a new game that does justice to it. To show my support and love, I rushed to GOG the moment I found out it was released here. Also, great and accessible price. Thanks again and I'm still waiting for a new breath of fire with soul and passion from the studio.

This game and BoF3 are among my most beloved titles of all time—thank you for bringing it up. Not gonna lie, it would have been perfect if this release included at least BoF3 in a pack. Still, I hope it performs well in sales, and that Capcom not only brings the rest of the saga to the store but also gives BoF a new chance with a fresh entry. Capcom has its issues, but it's one of the few developers nowadays that seems to be handling its IPs well and with love. Now if Soul Reaver/Blood Omen could have a new entry too... uff.
