Eine brutale Augenweide !

Was soll ich sagen. Es war grauenhaft schön! Ich hab Blasphemous in ca. 22 Stunden beenden können (Story) und es war eine echte Herausforderung. Es gab Momente, da hätte ich den Controller am liebsten aus dem Fenster geworfen.. und den Monitor gleich hinterher. Aber letztendlich habe ich es dann doch geschafft und war mächtig stolz! :p (Mit Xbox Controller gespielt.) Blasphemous ist nichts für schwache Nerven und man muss schon sehr ausdauernd sein, wenn man solche Spiele nicht täglich konsumiert und dementsprechend nicht geübt ist. Ich hatte trotzdem ne' Menge Spaß und freue mich es geschafft zu haben. Es gibt jedenfalls viel zu entdecken und zu erforschen! Für mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung, auch wenn es mir persönlich stellenweise zu schwer war und mich die Story jetzt nicht vom Hocker gerissen hat - Geschmackssache! Ich war trotzdem absolut motiviert das Ende zu erreichen und die toll gemachten Bosse zu genießen ♪ Blasphemous ist eine Augenweide und ich werde sicherlich irgendwann einen zweiten Durchgang wagen. Looks great but plays terrible

Art direction and animations are great! The gameplay is terrible though. The platforming and movement is very slow and sometimes non-responsive, resulting in many deaths. The enemies are very tanky while some are outright cheap and not fun to deal with (The teleporting laser ghosts come to mind). Also, this game doesn't respect your time at all. If you get lost, there isn't much of a fast travel system and since your character is slow, you will waste a lot of time slowly moving from one place to the next, trying to figure out where to go. This is more of a slog than a videogame.

Guide *absoultely* required, sadly

Developers disrespectful of players. There's an unmarked, untelegraphed "point of no return" in this game. If you pass it, you will NOT be able to get the various endings. You MUST use a guide to find this out. If you do not, the game forces you not only to replay, but to replay on a higher difficulty (for an already really tough game -- so outside the realm of possibility for many if not most players). There is a work-around to modify your save game. Other than that, the game itself is great. Probably 4/5, but pushed up to 5/5 because of the amazing art.

Just short of being good + a major bug

Disclaimer: the game has somewhat disturbing graphics. They are great, amazing even and perfectly evoke the atmosphere the game is going for, but just be advised that these may not be for everyone. Review: The game is a solid entry in the metroulsvania genre. If this is your jam, then you are likely to appreciate it. Outside it's atmosphere (great visual and sound design) I wouldn't say it's grounbreaking, and it definitely has its faults, but it is still a fine entry in its genre. However, if 2D soulslikes aren't your thing, this game probably won't be the one that will change your mind. While the game has quite a lot going for it (atmosphere, some fun challenge at times, satisfying progression), some elements of the game are quite underwhelming, with several game design issues being apparent. The character progression is rather uninspired (while the game throws a lot of character progression screens at you, only a few elements make a noticeable impact on the game)m the pacing isn't perfect (the game can be a bit of a slog at times) and the difficulty drops noticeably after some time. The combat is a bit hit and miss with a lot of skills or tricks just not being useful or fun to use. It's still fine, but with low variety it gets tedious at times. The game design just seems a bit undercooked. All in all, I’d give the game 3,5 stars, but rounding it down to 3 wouldn't seem fair - the atmosphere itself is deserving of a better rating. Please also note that there is a serious (although avoidable) bug with the game. Whenever i played with an unstable internet connection, the game had a problem with cloud saving, that could effectively erase most of my progression (even going from 80% to 20%). There is a way to recover a later save (with much less progress lost) and turning off uploading to cloud should probably save you from the bug entirely, but when it happened to me (and it happened several times), it's a massive pain.
