The realm is under attack, and its staunchest defenders are the beautiful women who now stand between hordes of monsters and the kingdom they love. Yet with ever-mounting numbers against them, they need a little help. That’s where you come in! Your strategic know-how puts you in command of how these heroines will fight. Keep your gorgeous heroines alive during the battle at all costs!
Enter the fray with one of the many unlockable characters, and mow down the enemies around you to survive until time runs out. With fast-paced projectile attacks, it’s like a bullet hell—but where you are the attacker! This may not all knew, but this games gives in 2 Versions.
And 18+ Version called "Sexy Mystic Survivors" and the clean Version "Beautiful Mystic Survivors"
So the Tag "nudity" is not the best description for this version in my opinion.
The same problem allready happend on STEAM that players thought they would buy the 18+ Version and got the censored one.
First off, this review is for the early access, non +18 version.
Pros:
- Graphics are beautiful
- Even on extreme, with max settings, the game runs smooth on a gaming desktop
- Plenty of weapons, lots of upgrades, each level has a good spread of enemy types
- Difficulty levels are balanced
- Character stats, abilities and play style are different enough to be worth swapping between levels on higher difficulties
- Weapon choices matter on higher difficulty, as does character
Cons:
- Boss drop chests must be manually opened, can be difficult later in the level to reach
- Hard to see drops later in levels
- No help, description or explinations other than weapons
For an early access, the devs did a great job on graphics and balancing. I played all difficulties and levels, and each one was enjoyable. For hard and extreme, your choices really matter and the wrong weapon combo or poor character choice will be the difference between survival or an early death. Easier difficulties are a good intro to the game's weapons and enemy mechanics. On hard and extreme, the game will punish you for standing still, then for moving and standing still past 15 min. Have the finesse to squeeze past a pincer move by mere pixels is both satisfying and challenging.
The graphic effects are beautiful, though it can make it very difficult to see drops and chests later on in the levels once weapons are evolved. You can zoom in on the action however you'll want to keep it zoomed out at all times, you've been warned.
To sum this game up, it's bullet hell survival where sometimes you're the one in hell and others you're the one giving it.
This game got me instantly with it's graphics, since most other Survivor style games use low resolution pixel graphics, Beautiful Mystic Survivors shows some beautiful 3D environments, effects and character models and with that is a welcome change. For a "in development" game it already feels pretty complete - a lot of unique classes and characters to play and unlock, three procedural areas with a playtime of ~30 minutes each if you have a good run. The variety of weapons and items is also pretty unique in comparison with other Survivor style games.
Since it's on the easier side when you play on "normal" this is probably a great way to get introduced into the new Survivor mini-genre. The gameplay loop, balancing and graphics make it very addicting.
Ideal for occassional gaming sessions of around 30 minutes each.
Gameplay is pretty good, and the controls are tight. The music gets really repetitive after a few runs, as it's just the same few tracks on shuffle, and the menu tune gets old REAL fast.
It just needs a little more fleshing out, and some polish. Another area for sure, maybe another character. Some explanation of what the different evolutions do would be much appreciated, as the current ones are a little vague. Maybe an example animation before you commit to a choice. Once you go through them all you know what they do, but testing them all out is tedious.
Overall, I do like it, and I'll probably keep playing for a while at least.
