Best Short Game Ever

I finished it in about an hour and a half, and I enjoyed every minute of the journey. From the music to the cute dialogue and characters, the whole game provides a relaxing, wholesome package. It's very kid-friendly and everything about it feels just right. I'm normally one of those "if I spend a dollar, I expect half an hour of entertainment" type of guys, but I've got no problem making an exception for this little game. I actually got it free on the Epic Store, and decided to buy it here to support the creator. If you just want a little chill time and appreciate soaking in the view, A Short Hike'll be a treat for ya.

If collective nostalgia were a game...

This game hits hard to your nostalgia...modernized in some aspects of control sensitivity, camera, display settings, etc, but it is the dialogue, music, sfx, menu sounds, just the right amount of dialogue, funny writing of the conversations, goals and activities hit perfect...I haven't had anything make me remind me of childhood this much before... Running around in this games is like dancing through a dream of your memories of a better world in your own past, you were there once...just once...but maybe you can go back for a bit and chill...

A rare gem

I've often found myself thinking, "This game has such a beautiful world, I wish it didn't have combat." A Short Hike is what I've been wishing for. The controls are a bit odd-I'd recommend using a controller-and you can only move the camera a little. All the same, flying feels great! I'm *very* pleased with this game, and the fact that it runs natively on Ubuntu is quite welcome. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off on a short. hike.

i really enjoyed it

another game, that i would describe as "vacation games". unfortunately the game doesn't show your progression, so i just have to assume, that i have 100%.

Entspanntes Erkundungsspiel

Positiv: - Entspanntes Gameplay. - Eine zu 96% gute Steuerung. - Eine zu 95% sehr gute vorgegebene Kamera. - Nette und teils lustige Dialoge und Begegbenheiten. - Schöner Pixelstil. - Motivierend. - Einiges zu erkunden. - Für einen entspannten langen Nachmittag. Negativ: - Die Kamera kann vor allem bei höheren Flügen und schnellen Wechseln der Region in ungünstige Betrachtungswinkel umschalten, dies war allerdings niemals beim lösen von aufgaben der Fall, nur beim freien Fliegen um die Insel herum. ! SPOILER ! - Die Steuerung des Bootes ist nicht gut, da quasi der Bildschirm mittig horizontal geteilt wird (nicht visuell) und je nachdem in welchem Bereich man sich gerade befindet lenkt das Boot beim drücken nach links, linksherum oder rechtsherum. Das ist sehr schade, da ich das Bootfahren ansonsten sehr spaßig fand. Fazit: Sehr zu empfehlen, es macht Spaß. die Musik und die Grafik sind sehr schön. für einen chilligen Nachmittag.
