disi: I just installed Directors Cut 2.0.1.2 to see how it goes, the game hangs every few seconds and is absolute unplayable.
The latest version is from October last year. Is that it?

Wasteland 2 Kickstarter 2.4.0.18 runs at first, then in battle and on the map occasional lag (like after every turn)?

I thought they would have fixed the problems at release by now.
So... has you read this http://www.gog.com/forum/wasteland_series/known_issues/post37 ?

disi: Nope, I have not.

But I was sitting there and though which game I should try next. Then used the latest installers of Wasteland 2 and this is the result, a year after release?

I'll try this:

Additionally, if you have a d3d12 GPU (I have an R9 380 4GB that supports level 12_0 in D3d12 in hardware) you can use the -force-d3d12 switch as well and also get complete stability in the DC.

disi:
The problem is something very specific to certain hardware, plus InXile do not have a big group (and they work on pipeline with their following projects)

You might want to read some information about the game. You can certainly get all the skills with all of your squad. Toaster repair is for something very specific, obviously. You should quit trying to do everything and just roleplay a ranger squad that you enjoy. but, if you want to know more, there's tons of information out there.

Also, you are probably failing a lot because your luck is low. Low luck = more misses and crit. failures and unsuccessful skill uses.

disi: Thanks. I noticed you can progress the story mostly either way.
Toaster, as you said, is only for Boni it appears.

It is also cool how you pick up more people on the way.

We have me, the smart-ass with a shotgun, Angela Deth, the hard-ass mid-distance assault-rifle, Hex, my mechanical computer scientist with energy weapons, Fade can open locks with a close up submachine-gun and recently that native american woman with a sniper rifle and I am not sure how the animal whisper stuff works out with her. Oh and Pills from the Enterprise* for all the medical needs.

*in the German version Bones was called "Pille".

I am now at Highpool and Ag Center keeps calling in, their situation seems to get worse the further I progress at Highpool. Is this supposed to happen? Should I let Highpool blow up and go over to Ag Center?!?
OMG! Poor Kathy... at Highpool everyone is/was against the Desert Rangers, the Ag Center sound friendlier.

The needs of the many... water seems more important than food in the short future.
I actually highly recommend looking at a guide to see what followers are available in the game, so you can decide which ones you will want to have in your party, so that you can create your 4 rangers at the beginning with skills that you won't eventually get from other characters. Annnd, if you want a spoiler about Highpool/Ag Center situation, scroll down...

*SPOILER INC*

You can only save 1. If you've got to Highpool, Ag. Center will be destroyed, and vice versa. To me, it's more a matter of which follower you want in your party, because 1 is available from each location, but once you choose which location to save, the other becomes unavailable. Rose from Ag. Center is a much better follower imo, so I always save Ag. Center. The implications of water vs. food don't actually matter.

disi: Thanks, nothing spoilered because Ag Center is gone. I went to the place and only found some heavily injured guy, Angie hard-assed him into giving up his disguise and he was the one poisoning the plants... now he is no more.
I only play Rookie, so it should not matter too much.

What I noticed, Vulture's Cry sometimes does her own turn in combat. Is this something special about her?
She does fit well into the squad, because I didn't have a sniper before.
you should really read a manual/guide! Followers will "go rogue" sometimes, all of them have the potential to do it, some more than others. ROOKIE?! I only find the combat rewarding in Ranger, but, it all depends, I suppose!

Poor goat. Maybe it's been to Prison Valley... :(

disi: Just something I noticed on the way. I had Vulture's Cry charm the goat from the Ranger Citadel and it died at some stage in a battle. All I could find on the cadaver was a used condom...

p.s. as for ROOKIE. I am not so much into hard combat. It should make me upgrade my weapons and armour but not punish me with close to impossible situations, where every battle takes an hour with extreme micromanagement. This is not rewarding for me but annoying.
The 'dangerous' raiders on the Arizona map are already just annoying with lvl18+ and all modded weapons. Just animals are really tough in this game.

The little things and stories are enough in Wasteland2 to keep me going.

Running forward and backward, talking to npc, skills for dialogue options, disarming every single mine manually, no minimaps, no quest pointers except for text is already a huge jump in difficulty compared to other games where you just follow green arrows.
Correction, is a return to the old difficulty, Wasteland 2, is the old way to do the games with modern GUI, plus an well balanced weapon system (you can still survive the full game with pistols if you want) but less insane than Wasteland 1. That is why reading the game's manual is important.

Anyway, as long you don't try the hardest setting everything will be fine (because honestly, in the DC is more than insane, I did it and will never happens again).

By the way, begin to fear the day you find the skorpion from the main title :P

P.d. sorry, on my last post I was unclear, the problem you was facing is related to the Unity engine and certain videocard hardware (and no, is not relevant the power of your card). I don't remember all the details as I don't said hardwares.
