OP, that was an incredible post. Very sad because it is so true.

The drinking of positions is just so beyond stupid it's insulting. Really, I can't just drink something!? I saw in a cut scene that I was drinking something with Roche withou meditating. So WTF gives?

3 years since W1 and this sad excuse for an engine is what they came up with

einarabelc5: The Grandmaster IS Alvin.
To be honest a Silver sword will probably bent under such stress. Too Malleable.

cloud8521: the sword is not fully made of silver, it has a steel core. (at-least that's what it says in TW1 when you do the quest that you get for getting the first silver sword)
And how big is that core. Nevertheless it will still turn into an oversized overpriced blunt weapon.

It's supposed to be Silver plated Steel. As in, a normal sword with a silver coat.

Aside from worrying about the Silver wearing off, it should function pretty much the same as any sword would.

well seing as its plated with silver i would say... large.
Well, that was certainly a fun read, Frotz. However, I can neither confirm nor contest the accusations since I haven’t played the game yet for two reasons:
1) My new PC hasn’t arrived yet.
2) I want to wait until the resolution / format issue is addressed.

It will lose it's edge.

methinks you dont know what plated means, what you just said would mean that the steel sword would have the same flaw.

Chances are, the edge isn't silver at all. I'm pretty sure that a silver sword will have to be sharp enough to cut. Otherwise, you might as well be hitting them with a silver plated club.
Perhaps he swings it more lightly to lessen the chance of dulling it on peoples' necks.
If I recall correctly, in TW1 you could kill humans with your silver sword and/or monsters with your steel one. It just took a bit longer, as vise versa did much more damage. Don't know how it's like with TW2 though. Haven't tried that yet...

man that would be cool.

OH NO MONSTER! *bashes it brains in with club*

YEAH!

really the only reason for silver is due to the warewolf. silver makes monsters weaker and allows for easier cuts and keeps them from healing

It would...here. But luckily you are using it only in a fantasy world where magic does exist and makes things possible beyond your imagination. And yes: Magic can explain just everything. Like god did, before Nietzsche killed him.

Frotz: When I am fighting I decide who I want to hit by kinda looking at them funny and I keep changing my mind. My eyes are somewhere behind my head and when they are stuck in a bush I can't see who I am trying to fight at all.
You can lock on an enemy using the left ALT-key.

eRe4s3r: You do? Mhmhmnhmnhhh.... I am fairly certain in my playthrough Alvin is alive. You do kill the grandmaster of the order with it though.

That Alvin traveled in time is pure speculation ;) They certainly didn't spell it out

well they gave enough clues to nearly give a story of what happened.

Nietzche tried. But that's another story.
