Nice find, DOWN WITH PRIVACY!!!

If there's a heart next to a game on that list, does that mean that he put it there? Or is it some kind of community thing?

Because seriously, Eternal Sonata is the most preachy, screechy, watered-down and awful game I've ever played and if he put that heart there... all hope is lost. Also, no Lost Odyssey? That was one of the few jrpg games that was actually good, and CDPR could take a few pages from its flashback system.

You know who liked privacy? The unabomber. Therefore, violating Marcin's privacy is for the greater good :)
Ekhem..: "The Witcher" - 0 hours played.
Yes, a heart means 'favourite game' and you mark it as such manually. Raptr collects information about when you play and how much you play, although you can add games to your library without playing them/having Raptr scan them in.

Mine says 0 as well because I played it three years ago, but still added it to my library. So...

It's not a violation when someone leaves a profile public ;)

Getting back on topic:
If this is true, it's disappointing. I would expect a CM to *want* to know what his community is so enthusiastic about. Not having played the game makes claims about being enthusiastic for sequels, etc even more hollow. Maybe I'm too naive about this, it's just another job after all.

This is horrible. I don't think you understand how bad Eternal Sonata is. Luckily, youtube can help explain: ES Cutscenes (spoileristic, probably)

Gameplay: run for 3 minutes, kill a couple things, receive long cutscene with awful VA. Rinse and repeat for a couple hours, until you reach the preachy ending.

But yeah, I don't think it matters if Marcin has played The Witcher or not. Obviously he has time to play through games, so even though it's strange to say, I'm going to have to recommend the Witcher games to him (if he hasn't played). You know, because they're good.
oh come on guys/gals, why should he play it in the mean time since he's a "member since March 27, 2011" ?
That style.
Those VAs.
That writing.

I lasted 4 minutes, I think I deserve some kind of a medal.
... I really liked Eternal Sonata. I played the 360 version first, and while the poorly translated script left a lot to be desired, one of the most fun combat systems ever made for a JRPG kept me entertained, while the beautiful (musical) story still shone through at times. Then I got the PS3 version, which solved a lot of the issues with the script and the writing, and ironed out a few more things, while also adding more content. The game still had problems, but it was vastly superior to the 360 in every way. Poor localization and crappy VO's didn't manage to ruin it for me - I had lots of fun in combat, and I admired its story greatly.

Okay, combat was good. A bit simplistic, but I'll admit that it was fun.

But what about the story was good in any way, shape, or form? The whole time I was picturing a five year-old writing the plot off the top of his head. The whole Chopin/music angle could have been amazing, but it was so underutilized that it might as well had not been there, and any minor plot development led to Beat and others repeating what you just saw multiple times. It was patronizing, and even worse, nothing particularly profound happened in the entire game to warrant such explanation. I mean, there were sections where I could tell it was trying to be profound, but the voice acting, script, and plot were just so distractingly bad that nothing ever stuck.

Ahem. Not that I have strong opinions about this subject or anything :)
that game itself looks ugly and retarded. looks like it was designed for children so what do you expect?

Well, it was recommended by someone who was at least older than 30, and it supposedly revolves around one of the greatest composers in history.

So art design aside, I was expecting a certain measure of depth and sophistication. It lacked both, even by fluff jrpg standards. It was just an archetypal jrpg with Chopin tracks thrown on top and superfluous music references in town and character names.

Chopin deserved better than that, man.

I beat the game. Not because I wanted to, but because I was determined to get to the part where it gets good.

That part didn't come until I sold the game and bought something better.

It looks like something that could be interesting if it were in Japanese with English subtitles, so you could pretend the silly lines are just awkward fan translation. The VAs ruin it completely, with cheesy dialogue and all. I hate those high-pitched girly voices so much, everyone who managed to play it for more than 10 minutes is a hero in my book.
Well now we know why he has 360 in his name :)

What more can ya say...it's a job and its a consolized game so they hired a PR console gamer. Makes sense to me. The question is..will they make PC games in the future or throw us under the bus???
