I am finishing chapter 2 now and I started playing on the release date. True I took last weekend off the game but it makes me wonder if I am just slow at the game or if people are just really fast.

Luckily, how fast someone plays the game should have zero effect on your enjoyment. ;p

I will say I have finished three full playthroughs, and I remember you from when we were all first starting. :p

I do wish more people had finished though, as it's difficult to get any conversations going about the plot as a whole. :)

Some people have more time than other to race through a game, and people have different preferences on pace and exploration.

So no, youre not slow. The game took me a week to playthrough, mostly in the evenings, with my own personal completionist philosophy.
It's normal i believe , you took 2 days off , and chapter 3 is really quick if you keep playing you will finish today , i wish chapter 3 was longer or had more sidequests :(
u dont want to beat the game so fast and feel that it is a short game. I played on insane, took the whole night to defeat the queen engreouos sth (just a side quest in Flotham ).

I will spend 1 week just playing act 2. Yes! a whole week! Why not just camp out at night, hunt some monster, gather ingredients to craft an armor for myself, and also, check out EVERY whores.

Not until after that will I start an side quests, then the main quest.
Well. The subsequent chapters get shorter and shorter.

As for plot discussions, it's a bit hard here since you don't have subsections dedicated for spoilers.
Senteria, I think you are going at a little slower pace. But enjoying yourself is paramount.

Also, it is pretty clear that most people posting their vaunted opinions about any game begin to do so after playing for ~5 minutes. My point is, I don't think you are that much behind the pack. Only a few of us have the time to get through all the content and thoroughly explore in less than a week.

Hey, who says that faster is better? ( Except Daft Punk! )

Sincerly, since the release i am NOW at the end of Chapter 1. Enjoy the game! It's not a ploughing competition, no battle.net laddere here :D
lol just started chapter 2 myself, and started at release.
Looking at the guide, it seems I took the shortest path with no sidequests in chapter 3. I could be wrong.

me too. at the end of chapter 1. i am taking my time. adoring the landscape. replying old fights i enjoyed. read the journal sometimes. i WALK in many cases and not run. makes me more immersed.

it's a shame to hear that chapter 2 will be shorter and that chapter 3 is really short and disappointing :\

Well based on my choices, I think chapter 2 is almost as long as chapter 1.

its not about being fast, its about knowing when to roll ;)
I'm in the middle of chapter 2 right now, started on release day. I haven't had much time to play, and I didn't do all the sidequests (saving them for another playthrough!). I think Chapter 2 is great, and while I can't say much about 3, most people have said that its not the length of it proper that bothers them, it is the fact that there is no chapter 4.

No, I think it's the length, or lack thereof. The game sort of sets up an expectation of symmetry among the chapters, that doesn't pan out in chapter 3. I was perfectly thrilled with the ending, and would have been perfectly fine with three chapters of the quality of the chapters in the game. But 3 does defy expectations a bit, and this is the offputting thing. It simply takes you by *surprise* with its brevity...you have expectations that there will be more based on what the game has already shown you.
