GrimTuesday: I'm in the middle of chapter 2 right now, started on release day. I haven't had much time to play, and I didn't do all the sidequests (saving them for another playthrough!). I think Chapter 2 is great, and while I can't say much about 3, most people have said that its not the length of it proper that bothers them, it is the fact that there is no chapter 4.

Cyjack: No, I think it's the length, or lack thereof. The game sort of sets up an expectation of symmetry among the chapters, that doesn't pan out in chapter 3. I was perfectly thrilled with the ending, and would have been perfectly fine with three chapters of the quality of the chapters in the game. But 3 does defy expectations a bit, and this is the offputting thing. It simply takes you by *surprise* with its brevity.
Maybe if they'd just called it "Climax", this silly grousing over its length would never have occurred. I mean, they could have called the Epilogue Act 4, and I bet you'd hear a shit storm of complaints concerning the length of it, but they didn't, and I've not heard any real complaints about its length. Amazing what a label can do.

Besides, it's not like Act 5? 6? was all that long in the first Witcher Game either. :p
im 45 hours in................. hardly short.

game is a masterpiece, only complaint is the lack of side quests, and no big dungeons to explore. Hope there is DLC where we get 3-4 story dungeons with a big demon or monster to defeat in it. Want more side queasting and places to explore. Wanting more because thet game is excellent.

Most modern games never get the dungeon crawling done well at all, ala Diablo or baldurs gate. Demons Souls had awesome dungeons.

Yakkuz: Hey, who says that faster is better? ( Except Daft Punk! )

Sincerly, since the release i am NOW at the end of Chapter 1. Enjoy the game! It's not a ploughing competition, no battle.net laddere here :D

topeira: me too. at the end of chapter 1. i am taking my time. adoring the landscape. replying old fights i enjoyed. read the journal sometimes. i WALK in many cases and not run. makes me more immersed.

it's a shame to hear that chapter 2 will be shorter and that chapter 3 is really short and disappointing :\
2 is just a s long as 1.

Meh. I was sad to see it so short, but only out of a desire for more of a good thing. I think the ending set piece was fantastic, and I was thrilled with the chapter. I don't agree with people that classify it as "rushed", because that implies a lack of quality, and chapter 3 is very high in quality. But I would have liked a little bit more time with Geralt and Triss.

Senteria: I am finishing chapter 2 now and I started playing on the release date. True I took last weekend off the game but it makes me wonder if I am just slow at the game or if people are just really fast.
It's not about being slow or fast. Just enjoying the game. For some they get hooked and they forego other leisures to continue playing. That's just the way they like to enjoy their games. Some like to savor the experience.

Play a little. And let that experience marinate for a while. Play some more and reminisce. I wouldn't worry about how others play. This isn't a race.

And really, I think players who enjoy the game in small doses are smarter. It will probably be years before another awesome game like TW2 will be released again. Not saying there won't be another awesome RPG, but not one with such a great character as Geralt and with this type of combat and dialogue etc.
I've finished the game because I'm unemployed. If you haven't had time to play because you have a job, then actually, you WIN! :-)
Just keep in mind not to blink your eyes during chapter 3, else you'll miss everything and suddenly realize the credits are rolling.
