I started this game a few days ago and the first thing I did when I left the town was to steal a potion from the healers hut. Now I can't get back in. Ive completed a good amount of the game now and I'm wondering how do I get her to let me back in?? Am I now stuck unable to finish the game??

Yeah, she won't let you back in. Sorry, you'll either have to reload or restart. In the future, be very careful who you try to steal from, and remember: save early, save often, and in different slots just in case something like this happens.

Darn that stinks. I do save often, but this is something I did literally after I left the main town so I need to go all the way back now. Is there anything else like this through the game that I should avoid doing, or need to do at a certain time that will prevent me from finishing the game? I hate having to track back and do things twice.

Not that I can think of off the top of my head, at least, but it's possible there is something I am forgetting. There might be something in the second game that can make it unwinnable, but it's not something I think you are likely to have problems with.
Thanks for the help
Doing any of the following in QFG1 will make your game unwinnable:

* Stealing from the healer before acquiring the dispel potion
* Attacking the stag
* Attacking the spitting spiria plants before acquiring the magic acorn
* Eating/discarding the magic acorn the dryad gives you
* Using/discarding the fairy dust the fairies give you
* Discarding the dispel potion
* Visiting Baba Yaga for the first time after dusk but before midnight (VGA only - still winnable in EGA)

Ooh, I had forgotten those. Never ran across them myself, but I had heard about that happening.

Most players will never run into them. As far as old-school games with unwinnable states go, the QFG series is tame. Part of that is because you really only need to complete the dispel potion to win. So long as you don't have a death curse over your head and you haven't pissed off one of the NPC's critical to making the potion, you can still win. Everything else is secondary and you can screw up pretty horribly and still succeed.

Yeah, no kidding. I have yet to get to an of the King's Quest games, but all the things I've heard about unwinnable scenarios terrify me.
So the game froze when I went to pick up the magic acorn-character went over to pick up, then just stood there. Couldnt move the cursor to any action, couldnt leave. So I went through the game again and stupidly decided to leave the screen then turn around to get the acorn. Only regular acorns now. Am I stuck? Just try recieving the acorn again?
Running the VGA version.
Are you referring to the one that's being tossed back and forth by several plants?

It's normal for the character to stand there for a while, assuming that you've climbed up to catch it. He has to wait for a 'toss' to come his way.

I am referring to the actual magic acorn that the dryad drops after you give her the spore

Also saving after attacking the Antwerp.
I don't know if that's a gamebreaker, but you can't enter a certain screen as the Antwerp will kill you. But I think edging along the corner of the screen works.

There is a way to survive that. You can look it up if you want a spoiler, or try to figure it out for yourself.

I beat the game so many times. But only the EGA version. The entire game, in fact the entire series has been long spoiled for me :3 you can tell me the Antwerp thing if you want.
