I dunno how I managed it, but I'm missing 5 points and I can't quite figure out which ones.

Missing 5 points isn't the worst deal for me, honestly. I can continue just fine. But I'm just perplexed because I clearly made a mistake, but without knowing which one, I don't know what to be cautious about in the future.

Could one of you clever hex editors or such look at my save file to see which points I'm missing? I wouldn't know what to look for.

Here it is on Dropbox. Thanks in advance!

(For the record, things that I know that I did:

Sold beard to Healer.
Sold claws to Healer.
Talked to gatekeeper.
Worked at stables.
Got 25+ silver in a single Dagnabbit match)

Did you buy a meal for Abdullah?
Considering I got the point for talking to him and I always feed him (I think feeding him rations is as good as giving him a meal?), I'm pretty sure I did.

However, he's also no longer at the Inn at Sunset so it's hard for me to check exactly.
Did you take the Kobold's chest?

cbingham: Did you take the Kobold's chest?
Yep. I even went back and killed the kobold so I could check again.
Did you listen to the conversation at the archery target?

Yep.
Did you say "Hiden Goseke?"

Yep.

Furthermore, I actually went back after dispelling the Brigand Leader and killed that troll for his beard so I could sell it to the healer.

NOT easy with a Thief in the EGA version.

Did you steal absolutely everything from the houses? Some of them are easily missed. I think petting the cat while inside was also worth some points.
I fed the cat, yeah. As for stealing stuff, that bit is possible, but I can't think of FIVE POINTS worth of stuff I've missed.

That's why I wanted someone to hex-hack the save file
Well, assuming that these missing 5 points are about one puzzle then it's one from this list:

- Talk to Abdulla
- Talk to Karl
- Work at Stables
- Enter 'Enry's House
- Calm the Bear Down
- Pick LOL's Lock (Little Old Lady's)
- Pick Sheriff's Lock
- Tell Password to Crusher

- Acquire Green Fur
- Give Acorn to Healer
- Say the Password to Fred
- Get Money from Kobold's Chest
- Win a 25-silver Dag-Nab-It game
We can rule out all the points that have points gated behind them, because if I missed those points, I would be missing *more* than 5 points.

So that rules out Calming the Bear Down (actually, last I checked, Calm doesn't actually work, you need to feed the bear to get the points. And my Thief does not have magic.), breaking into either house in Spielburg, telling the password to Crusher, Acquiring Green Fur (needed to beat the game), Giving Acorn to Healer.

And I know I did the rest.

It's also possible I missed 3 pointer and a 2 pointer. Or a 3 pointer and two 1 pointers. Or any variation of that.

Calm the Bear Down - it's about calming itself and not the way you do it; doesn't have to be the spell - feeding is just other solution here

Yep, but there are too many combinations to list in that case but if you want to check full puzzle points list them then you can do it here:

No, I've noticed Calming the Bear using magic does not actually grant 5 points.

There have been so many times I've played a Magic User where I missed 5 points and couldn't figure it out. It turned out that I had Calmed the Bear, but never FED the Bear. As such, I missed those points entirely.

So believe me, it's definitely *feeding* the bear.
