Thank you.
Are there any other changes?
Should people without too much vram use the patch?

So far, it is working perfectly. I'm only about five minutes into the game, but it's flawless. I never thought I'd be able to play Omikron again. To have one of my favorite games ever back in my life is astonishing. Thank you folks very, very much.

If you don't have any problems while using a card without too much VRAM, you shouldn't have to use the patch. Hope that helps :D.

It also fixes the mismatch between fog color and background colour, and an issue with see through walls when two different areas are on screen at the same time.
You should mark the patch as mandatory or add the GFX fix to the description on the game page.

Thank you. That's what I was waiting for after reading your previous messages.

Thanks for the response. But I had a feeling that there was something else in that patch.
And if we have original game in cd what we have to do ? Pay 9,99$ for the patch? I have 3gb memory and the game since i was 10, the spanish version, and i cannot play for having so much memory...

works wonders on my 660, no more odd fog... as for the patch... it still wouldn't help you, they seem to have done more under the hood. I also have the CD and looked at it like this: $10 is a movie, most last 2 hours.... there is far more than 2 hours of content in The Nomad Soul to justify.

Well so i will buy it because i need to do some gameplays about it, i think that is a foolishness to pay for a thing that you have got yet, but i haven't got more alternative. On the other hand, i see that what matters in Gog is making money so I will give to this site the publicity that it deserve ;) :)

There is, alas, no standalone fan-made patch floating around that you can apply to a cd copy to turn it into the GOG copy. You have a copy of the game designed to run on win 9x. GOG sell a different one designed to run on xp+. (And that incidentally wont run on win 9x, so your cd has an advantage there if you happen to have a 15 year old computer laying around) They're two different products, sold by two different businesses. You couldn't go to burger king and demand free fries because you paid mcdonalds for some and they turned out to be cold. (edit: hmm... need a better analogy there. The original chips in this case were bought, and happily eaten, many years ago. Would probably be a bit stale by now. :/)

Hi guys,

I just downloaded today. The patch won't install!

Omikron - The Nomad Soul patch log
Update from version 2.0.0.7 to 2.0.1.8

Incorrect version of: C:\Games\Omikron - The Nomad Soul\patch.dll

I ran: setup_omikron_2.0.0.7.exe
Followed by: patch_omikron_-_the_nomad_soul_2.0.1.8.exe

(not that it matters, I've since recalled that I only have 1gb VRAM :P)

I have the same issue.
Does the 2.0.1.8 patch do anything except fixing that 2gb vram problem?
The version number implies it would...
