iregiabejide: its the same for me- intro -->crash
phenom xii1100 /asus r3 390 / 16Gb Ram
Almost same as others report, with this update I don't even get any intro just instant appcrash

Yes I meet the requirements, (yes, i7, nvidia card, updates, SSE 4.1 etc) been through that already, yes I tried both installing on top and complete uninstall, reset before installing new.

I just have to wait for the next patch. :(
Happy to give it some more time..................well up to close to 30 days at least.

broetli: Sean Murray ‏@NoMansSky:

"Patch just out for PC version - Steam and GoG. Patch in submission for PS4 version, should be out very soon.
Even though less than one per cent of players have raised support issues, we're going to resolve roughly 70% of them this week"

Regals: Odd I was thinking it more at 5% that were having problems...
Guessing with how loud minority been figured it was more.

So maybe 10,000 people ish?
They don't actually know how many people had problems. They can only know how many people got or requested refunds saying that it didn't work, or how many people sent in support requests.

I did neither... I played even though it was basically in slow-mo, and I couldn't use the ship (1 FPS flight).

There's no way for them to know what trouble I had... they only know I was online and playing for 15hrs.

Note: playing on an i5 6600k, 16GB ram, with a midrange and req-meeting Nvidia 600 series (w/ DDR5), updated drivers, SSD, 1080p monitor... the game should totally play without a hitch at at least ultralow, but it didn't... might with update, I haven't checked yet.

light487: So, been playing the game for a few hours now. Very smooth, no stuttering, everything acting as it should, controls well etc etc.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X
12GB Ram.

Definitely more than capable of running this game now that there is no reliance on the SSE4.1 instructions... just the same as it was with MGS:V.. they did the same thing.. but patched within hours of release.

Red_Eagle_LXIX: Can you clarify if you are using the latest GOG patched version, or 3rd party patched/Steam patched?

Please folks lets be clear here.
Sorry, I'd already said it was the TPB (external) sourced patch a few posts up, so didn't say it again.

The TPB sourced patch is the big ~900MB patch.

ymgve: This patch basically did nothing for me.

Still garbage performance when flying over a planet with hitching every second or so, even on the absolutely lowest settings.

i5-3550, 980GTX, 16 GB RAM, Windows 7.
avatar
Blackberry: odd, i'm running a i5-3570k with 16Gb RAM with a gtx980, all be it with windows 10AU, without an issue, all maxed out on 2560x1440 res. (latest Gfx-drivers 362.54)
you mean 372.54 are the latest
I'm actually experiencing more crashing (by which I mean more than none, because it was fine before) since the patch. Stuttering is not as bad, but it's still there. All in all, a step backward.

Unfortunately as the crashing/unable to start for the Phenom users here on the board shows, we did not get an equivalently working patch as the Steam version and instead received broken junk.
I am very sorry others are STILL having crashes with the new patch.

I am here however to give credit where it is due. No mods installed and running at native 1920x1080 the game looks like a different game then the one that was released last week. Its no longer all blurry and low res looking and instead of 28fps I am getting a constant 45-55 fps.

Much better and should have been the way it was released for sure. Not sure who in the QA dept there at Hippy Central (Hello Games) signed off on that mess that was released last week but they better be working in the mail room now.

I truly hope they get you guys working that are still crashing....

Rubicanto: Why do you absolutly think it's GOG fault ? Do you think they must put a gun in the face of Hello Game ?

The maximum they can do is ask, or threaten them to stop distribute the game... something you can do only if you are the leader like Steam!

If the game is full of bugs, it HG fault! Same for the patches.
avatar
chaosWyrM: its not gogs fault the game is buggy...but it most certainly is gogs fault that their customers still dont have access to the fixes others got 4 days ago.

it doesnt matter if its hg that just wont send it to them...its gogs obligation and responsibility to ensure they get the same level support as other platforms. they obviously failed miserably in doing so.

if you dont understand that...then you dont know how businesses work.

as a paying customer...i dont care at all what the reasons are. all i know is that if i had spent that same $60 over at steam...id be playing the game for 4 days now.

but im not. its still broken...nearly a week after launch...even though theres been a fix for 4 days.
How?!

What shall they do if Hello Games don't send updates? They send mobsters Hammer down their door? And after they comeback with the holy patch?

And i know how a business work, thx for asking: if your dealer don't send you anything, you are fucked. You can't do anything. Customers can yell, threaten you, everything they want, you CAN'T DO ANYTHING (if the good you need is very specific).

Now if you are able to negotiate the same deal for "John Doe Gaming" than for Best Buy, you are certainly the best negotiator in the work so plz, share you magic method with all of us.

GOG isn't perfect, and im not a fanboy, but i think Hello Games deserve more critics than our Polish friends.

whoa, the SSAA works now for sure... for quality AND fps result. My 'primitive' 980ti can feel that one.
Seems like other settings such as anisotropic filtering and max fps work as intended too.
Daily Express says game now has Havoc Physics (!?) and re-writes for cpu, gpu and shader code. Added mouse smoothing option in options and "1,000's" of assembly code line changes for AMD CPU's and ATI GPU's/,

My game now runs as smooth as butter, and it seems to be when you have a large planet on the horizon, it looks better. But that may just be wishful thinking.
This is just sad, both from GOG and worse from HelloGames.

Disappointing that folks used a cracked version of the competitive distribution platform's patch actually can get it working, using the patch directly from the competitive distribution service can get it working, but not the ones who use the patch provided here.

So what fixes are/did we get comparative to the Steam version?
What version are we at as comparative to the versions on Steam? The GOG version number matches one of the Steam build numbers (according to SteamDB), except that build on Steam has fixes not in the GOG version. The GOG version is broken where that build works from Steam.

Anyone from GOG or HelloGames like to speak up?

What do you mean? I used the patch from here and it is improved.
We have many new PC gamers, we are told, as the resurgence of the PC shows no stopping after 5 years. I don't know anyone (10 people) who has a console and doesn't have a gaming PC as well.

What this means is that any game problem and it is straight on social media, because they don't know enough about their PC to tweak and check things. They treat their PC as if it was a console - and if it doesn't work they go crazy.

Meanwhile, within 24 hours log time PC gamers came up with fixes that made a substantial difference to many gamers!

And this is why Devs should stay away from the likes of Twitter and reddit, etc. Too many people who treat their pcs like consoles without a clue what makes them work and crucifying the Devs unfairly in my opinion. Just have a proper moderated forum allowing decent criticism and not the inane, `Your game won`t work on my pentium 486 - I hates you! My pc worked with Frogger it should work on this! I don`t care if the cpu is 10 years old! Wah!`

Same here. This patch help a lot: no crash, AA work for real, no more stuttering and im pretty sure they fixed the mouse lag.
