after patch it works much better. Now HG please fix that flight model :) (I hate that I cant fly freely on planet)

Trudgen: yeah done all that, it anit working. could you get pass the HG logo before the update?
Yes, I did. I could play the game quite well. I was just suffering from serious fps drop after playing a while (usually around 1 hr or more). My system: Intel Core i7-4790K on Asus Z97-A, 16 GB RAM, ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 970 Windows 10 Pro. So far I had no fps drop with the new version, but actually I did not play long enough yet...

cliqk: So, the update on pirate website like TPB makes the game working great (on phenom)

But the official update on GoG doesn't? What is wrong with this shit ! Good to know for the next game I want to buy, It will be Pirated version > Steam > GoG !
avatar
light487: Yup.. I finally decided to do this. I don't see getting a patch as piracy, as I already bought the game, so I feel fine about it.

I was able to play the game IMMEDIATELY after the TPB patch files were applied. I did change the username and the language of course. Other than that, changed nothing and it works beautifully. The game starts a little stuttery during the opening star field sequence but I attribute that to "loading" all the assets etc. Once I was in the game and in control, it was as smooth as I would expect.
Another patch coming next week, duh testing started later for phenom patch means it comes out later.
Nothing but complaints about not testing, but when you find out they are testing you complain?
Pirate version comes out first because they don't give two fucks if it breaks your game.
Getting the patch is not piracy, let me guess some bloke on the internet told you (must be fact then) How can you steal something given away for free?
My initial results with the new GOG patch are not as good as some others.
Before I was running rock steady 60 FPS at 2880x1620 with GSync off.

Since the patch I am unable to maintain 60 FPS even at 2715x1527 (which is what I had steady 60 FPS before turning off GSync on prior version)

I can run rock steady 60FPS still at 2560x1440.

About a 20% loss in pixels rendered to maintain the same steady state performance.

ScareYa: It's not really the "patch", it's the updated full package of No Man's Sky. But you can just download this new version, deinstall the old one on your computer (be sure to select "keep save games") and reinstall the new version 1284085 you just downloaded. Works perfectly for me.

Have you tried the openGL fix? I haven't, so can't vouch for it. In case you want to try, please see below. I have not tried it though, just something i read about. Apparently, it's for cards that don't support opengl 4.5, and this is what causes the crash. Only what I have read though, so not tried and tested by myself.

*******************

If you’re using older video card that does not support opengl 4.5, you can’t run “No Man’s Sky”.

Lucky for you there is a fix for this problem.

You need a tool called GLIntercept.

Download and install GLIntercept “x64” to programfiles

https://github (dot) com/dtrebilco/glintercept/releases/download/1.3.3/GLInterceptx64_1_3_3.exe

Copy OpenGL32.dll from GLIntercept installation folder to the game binaries folder

Download this config file for GLIntercept https://dl (dot) dropboxusercontent.com/u/17900579/gliConfig.zip

Extract the ini file in the archive downloaded to the binaries folder for the game

Please make sure that the installation path for GLIntercept is C:\Program Files\GLInterceptx64_1_3_3\ or change the ini manually to different location. Also make sure that the INI file extension is correct (not TXT or any other extension).
Are you kidding me about this patch does not fix the issue from AMD users?

That's an affirmative.

Red_Eagle_LXIX: Intel Xeon W3680 3.325 GHz (25x133) @ 4.316 (26x166) [6 Cores/12 Logical]
Your end of life, 7 year old processor is probably a bottleneck. It's almost half the performance of a currently i7, and even 15-20% slower than a low cost AMD FX chip.
So, been playing the game for a few hours now. Very smooth, no stuttering, everything acting as it should, controls well etc etc.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X
12GB Ram.

Definitely more than capable of running this game now that there is no reliance on the SSE4.1 instructions... just the same as it was with MGS:V.. they did the same thing.. but patched within hours of release.

You should really learn about computers.
The changes that caused a change in performance increase the load on the GPU not CPU (it has not increased CPU load at all).
The changes that caused increased GPU load are due to some backend rendering pipelines that were rendering at lower than set resolution.
Your comment was technically incorrect, and had no merit at all.

--- How many frelling times do companies have to face action before realizing automerging, and thus changing the written word of a person is not right, and should NEVER be done without some kind of notice that it was done and injected text to show such -- GOG, in this case I mean you. --

So the new patch is working for you? That is good news, indicates we have indeed at least gotten a more recent one, and that folks still having startup issues have another issue possibly.

LOL OK.. Coming from a guy that 'needs to learn about computers', I will explain why this patch is failing you.

Prior to patch you were relying on the CPU without bridging. Now you are relying on the northbridge, and your outdated Xeon is showing it's bus limitation between the CPU and bridge that wasn't present because before the caching was being handled by the CPU due to the bug rather than the GPU. Most gamers wouldn't have any issues with this patch because gamers don't run Xeon's (and this is one of the reasons)

There is zero-chance they will release a patch for the 10 guys running Xeon gaming rigs.

Can you clarify if you are using the latest GOG patched version, or 3rd party patched/Steam patched?

Please folks lets be clear here.

dn't work

run only witch SDE :(
Patch made a big improvement in performance for me.
This patch basically did nothing for me.

Still garbage performance when flying over a planet with hitching every second or so, even on the absolutely lowest settings.
