it's not experimental on steam anymore either

i saw posts here, guys said that they have problems sames as 2nd experemental patch

After the latest GOG patch (1287169) I can finally start the game (on my phenom II)! :D

UK_John: If some people are saying (like me) that the game now works super fine, then all this talk of "steam version working, GOG version not" it a bit much.
The big issue, where you can't play the game at all, only applies if you have an AMD Phenom II CPU or another CPU that doesn't support specific kinds of SSE. It was fixed on Steam on Monday via experimental patch and has been working since, and has not been fixed yet in the GoG version, since they messed up the patch in some way.

got to manual than after it updates throw back on automatic

not sure why.

Doesn't even list changelog

I switched to 'Manual', restarted 'Galaxy' and got to see the update info. For the first time since I bought this game a week ago I just saw the intro animation... Guess I will experience all those fuzzy feelings a lot of people did a week ago.

Sure you will. Just as long as you haven't looked at trailers, promotional demos, YouTube videos on the centre of the galaxy... you'll be alright then.

Actually, it runs just fine on max settings - the game doesn't seem to be very demanding resource-wise. There seem to be plenty of bugs where even high-end machines have bad fps, but so far I don't seem to be affected by any.

I had to restart Galaxy to get it to show the new update.

Installed 1287169 and I'm in! No problems running it with the GoG support "fix for all graphics cards" file (fairly low settings on everything)
